I disagree. I think Trump will never use his DOJ to fight this legally. He will continue to use Twitter to fight this politically. He will educate the people about the corruption and get them used to thinking of the Democrats and other deep statists as the criminals they are, so that they lose favor with the voters and lose elections.
I remember when Clinton got reelected in 1996 even though he completely shamed himself - the Republican’s tried to go after him legally with special prosecutors - but ultimately its only politics that counts. Clinton ignored the legal fight and kept his eye on the real prize - politics.
Trump is doing the same thing - he’s communicating with the people while
tolerating the Mueller witch hunt. He tweets out protests and shows his disapproval that he is being unfairly investigated while the Obama era coconspirators get a pass, but he never uses his authority to do anything about either.
I think even after the midterm elections it will be more of the same - Trump knows that in politics, you win by losing - the American people are seeing him as the innocent victim of a political witch hunt. The democrats are exposing a nasty and hateful petulance that is very unattractive to voters.
Trump is winning this as the innocent victim of a witch hunt - there is no way he will mess with success - he’s not going to use his DOJ to purge DC of deep state types and risk being seen as a witch hunter himself!
Obviously, he’s desperate, making up “crimes” like lying to a judge and getting FISA orders based on false evidence, while he is guilty of using his own money to pay off a trollop when he was running for elected office. Doesn’t he know what public funds are for? He should have followed the shining example of all those Congressmen who used public funds to pay for their “indiscretions”./sarcasm without end

What is their reaction, if I may ask, to the follow up question on how they can be assured that the “suspicion” was legitimate when it appears that it was based on falsehoods?
I’d make a better judge simply because I’m 3rd-generation American.
After that, I find “the law” to be contradictory, intrusive, incomprehensible and anti-liberty. I would be a good choice so as to try to get rid of a lot of anti-Bill of Rights laws.

A federal grand jury, lead by a bona fide conservative constitutional rule of law loving fed prosecutor would be much...much quicker.
That’s a sound theory. Plus it implies that Trump remains triumphant, hopefully keeping the House and Senate this November.
However, if the evil cabal is truly capable of the things that we’ve been led to believe, a major Earth shaking blow must be delivered to them about 2-4 weeks before the 2018 mid-term election.
Now, if Team Trump knows without a doubt that the mid-term election is going to go his way even without a major Earth shaking blow prior to November, then I can envision him being cognizant that a better suited House and Senate is what he’s waiting for in order to properly deliver the death blow later on.
IMO, I think his charter is more about draining the swamp than politics. Either way, I’m happy as hell anyway!

If by “major earth shaking blow” you mean some significant crooks like HRC or Obama himself being put behind bars - I think it would be earth shattering in exactly the wrong way - it would backfire and cause the Republicans to lose the midterms.
A very very small group of us ultra strong Trump supporters would be thrilled, but the vast majority would think Trump and the Republicans had gone too far, locking up leaders of the opposition party.
No, for the Reoublicans, the best outcome for the midterms is if the President continues to be unfairly maligned by Democrat bullies and lied about in the fake news.
People like an underdog and will rally around the President - they do not like bullies.

I absolutely agree that Trump will be appointing a special counsel.. as head of the justice department nothing stops that. They will argue tha regulations don’t permit that.. he will annul those regulations with the stroke of a pen. I have decided he will wait until after the election and then crack down hard.

Don’t get me wrong - they totally deserve it - but it would turn out the same as the Clinton impeachment - the voters would view it as party warfare and punish Trump and the Republicans for being the aggressors. The Democrats put in prison would become martyrs - and receive a full pardon when the Democrats were voted back into office.
I think President Trump is fully aware of this, which explains why he verbally reprimands his DOJ via Twitter, but never actually lifts a pinky finger to make them go after any ‘Rats.
Republican’s will pick up seats in the midterms, thanks to Trump’s prosecutorial restraint. Defeating them in the ballot box is a far more effective method of extermination than trying to put them in jail, only to have them be martyred and pardoned.
