I thought by now someone with deep pockets would have taken these companies to court and cleaned their clocks.
Guide to Antitrust Laws
Free and open markets are the foundation of a vibrant economy. Aggressive competition among sellers in an open marketplace gives consumers both individuals and businesses the benefits of lower prices, higher quality products and services, more choices, and greater innovation. The FTC’s competition mission is to enforce the rules of the competitive marketplace the antitrust laws. These laws promote vigorous competition and protect consumers from anticompetitive mergers and business practices. The FTC’s Bureau of Competition, working in tandem with the Bureau of Economics, enforces the antitrust laws for the benefit of consumers.
The Bureau of Competition has developed a variety of resources to help explain its work. For an overview of the types of matters investigated by the Bureau, read Competition Counts. This Guide to the Antitrust Laws contains a more in-depth discussion of competition issues for those with specific questions about the antitrust laws. From the menu on the left, you will find Fact Sheets on a variety of competition topics, with examples of cases and Frequently Asked Questions. Within each topic you will find links to more detailed guidance materials developed by the FTC and the U.S. Department of Justice.
For additional information about the work of the Bureau, or to report a suspected antitrust violation, contact us. To learn more about how the Bureau is organized and who to contact with a competition question, consult Inside BC. The Commission cannot represent individuals or businesses, and these resources are not intended to substitute for legal advice.

Anyone who reads this... do not put your credit cards into any payment gateway that uses stripe... they are trying to silence conservativ voic s... no feeding the beast.
Any legal type people remember this? In the 1980s or 90s a court forced a private club to allow blacks to become members. It wasn’t directly because they were discriminating against blacks but because business discussions took place in the club and they weren’t allowed to deny people a livelihood.
What the hell is stripe
They are a payment gateway, allows you to take payments (credit, debit cards) over the internet. I’ve always found their technology pretty solid, this is disappointing.
I think that our church used to use them for online donations. Sound very familiar.
A “private company” that has a cash flow larger than many nations is not really a private company, it’s a nation-state, and should be treated as such.
Yup, same rates as paypal but it’s for CC usage, people who don’t have paypal. I’ve used it.
So when is that whole mark of the beast thing going to start? Seems like we’re getting close to the point where no man will be able to purchase anything without it.
I think we are going to see a bunch of law suits aimed at libral businessmen and there use of corporate ascents to go after individuals they don like over the next couple years with a lot off them loosing everything in theses law suits.
Arrgh. I still have Stripe and it’s only for one $10 monthly payment at this point but I’d still like to ditch them since they’re doing this. Looking for alternatives on wordpress.org and so far I found 2checkout. Looked at their about page, found owner’s name, did a search and found his FB page and at the bottom it shows he supports enviro causes and LGBT. Next
Does this kind of stuff violate legal tender laws at all?
Ping.
Just ballpark, what percentage of the online payment processing market do you think Stripe has?
Why?
