And I say this with the deepest of sincerity – and I don’t want calls on this, by the way: Am I the only person in America who thinks the passing of McCain and the news coverage has gone on a little too long and it’s a little too much?
Really, you can honor somebody, but this is going on day after day after day after day after day. And I don’t say this out of any animus whatsoever, period. Why do some public officials get this kind of treatment – Kennedy, McCain, so forth – and others get no treatment whatsoever. You’ve probably never even heard of them, probably weren’t on TV as much as say McCain or Lindsey Graham and so forth.
Okay, fine. I understand that – that is, the criticism. But you don’t see the same kind of criticism applied to John McCain or the people who planned his goodbye in slighting Sarah Palin, which really is a mean thing to do. She never said a nasty word about John McCain, even when conservatives were raising questions about what he did and so forth. She never did. When I had her on a couple months ago, on Life, Liberty & Levin, wouldn’t say a negative thing about him.
Never did. She was his vice presidential running mate. He picked her. That seems to be a little bit more relevant to me than the flag flying at half-mast through Sunday, and yet you’ll see almost no criticism of this by the same so-called news outlets, the same so-called voices , you know, the same crowd who can’t wait to attack Trump.

Today, the McCain entourage is taking a victory lap around Washington D.C., including the Capitol, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and National Cathedral. I’ve misplaced my copy of the program; when do they parade to the Smithsonian and tour the Washington Zoo? Will Meghan throw out the first pitch from the mound at the Nationals game?

That's for sure. Trying to get a local station for weather (nasty thunderstorms this morning). What I got was wall to wall McCain coverage. At CBS they bashed Trump by misquoting him saying Trump didn't respect soldiers who had been captured. At ABC, they had a commercial break with an ad for GMA next week and concluded with "as Trump's poll numbers drop ..." when describing the mid-terms.
Trying to send Trump the usual over-the-top message. Instead, they are simply turning off masses of voters.

McCain was no maverick. He was a charter member of the political establishment, bought and paid for by his corporate paymasters.

By now, the Governor of AZ should have a pretty good idea of what kind of non-existent, saint-like politician, the media and left expect for the replacement Senator. Anything to the Right of that, will trigger them into fits of rage. Rachel Maddow will cry angrily at the MSNBC camera, again.
Sounds like Aretha’s funeral was a lot more fun.
Leave it alone, Mark. This pageantry is pure pay back to Trump. But remember that McCain started the fight by calling Trump followers a bunch of crazies. That was why Trump hit back so intensely.
We are seeing the carefully orchestrated release of a high budget production written, directed, and produced by John McCain with him as the major star. I suspect it will turn out to be another major box office bust although the plan probably includes an effort to get an Academy Award (Nobel Peace Prize).

Agreed. Disgusting fawning taking place over this man. Rush was out so I was listening to Prager yesterday. He said the same thing I thought, and many here have said. They only canonized him, because he stuck it to Republicans over and over.
At some some point on Thursday, I heard a clip of Biden eulogizing little old Johnny. It sickened me. Had to turn off the radio and calm down.
