Internet Giants: Not as Smart as They Think They Are
The American Thinker ^ | 8/31/2018 | John Conlin

Posted on 08/31/2018 8:12:58 AM PDT by John Conlin

Google, Facebook, Twitter, and other large internet companies have taken it upon themselves to censor and block content they find offensive.

Unfortunately for some of us, they seem to find that any thought that might be described as conservative falls within this offensive category, but their actions are dangerous regardless of political leanings.

Swarm intelligence. I've been looking for a name for the phenomenon that explains the beauty and success of capitalism. Millions of us evaluating goods and services continually, and voting with our monies.

As for the tech giants, I have as little to do with them as possible. I touch nothing google. Apple products are fantastic and my exception, which gets back to swarm intelligence. Apple is the only trillion dollar company on earth.

So why does the American Thinker page at the link only say to follow them on Facebook and Twitter? Hypocritical. Why aren't they on alt-tech?

Conservatives will not find success in technology until they create and launch their own companies just like we did in TV, , media , books and news papers. Too much liberal bias in the institutions otherwise.

The Koch brothers and the Adelsons of the world need to invest in technology companies instead of pouring more money down the swamp

“Swarm Intelligence” isn’t a new thing; it’s been around since the late 80s, in the days of 2600 and Mondo 2000 magazines touting this new internet thing as something that would help us achieve our own “Athens without slaves”. The problem is that swarm intelligence is very much dependent on interactions with the environment, and our environment in this — the bubblemind of GFBT — is toxic to the idea of dissemination of intelligent thought (which I would submit comes from rational discourse).

TLDR; GFBT makes Usenet and IRC look like bastions of intelligent thought and rational discussions, and that’s just... very not right. ;)

No federal contracts for IT services, cloud, etc should be allowed for any company that censors political opinions.

All it would take is ONE congressman to insert an amendment in a must pass bill.

That, and issue an executive order that no government computer or phone may be used to access Facebook, Google, Twitter or Amazon.

Thought provoking article.

They (tech giants), were able to invent, develop their products, and subsequently make billions in a free Capitalist country. So now they want to destroy the system, (Starting with censorship), that gave them their success?
Brilliant.

Personally, I would like them to give a detailed explanation of why they censored Dennis Praeger and Praeger U. What great threat is he posing? Guess we can't have anyone encouraging people to be better human beings.
Uggghhh 😠.

No they aren't. They thought they could F*** us over and we wouldn't try to beat the sh*t out of them for doing it.

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/protect-free-speech-digital-public-square-0

94,010 signed so far.

At this rate, it will reach it's goal of 100,000 before the end of the day.

Unofficial petitions mean nothing. (Yeah that’s on a wh.gov site - still unofficial.)

I’ve seen numerous other “unstoppable juggernauts” disappear almost overnight. Yes, Facebook & Twitter will - IF you’ll join those leaving such private presses for friendlier independent ones.

Here’s the April em with swarm intelligence.....some hives are bigger than others. The whole point of shadow banning was to get the bees back in the hive that the bee keeper wants them in. Use DuckDuckGo for a browser. Get off Facebook and piss on the rest of the industry
