STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- A federal judge in Manhattan set a trial date Tuesday for the St. George woman accused of climbing the Statue of Liberty on the Fourth of July.
Theresa Okoumou, who allegedly made her way to the base of the landmark, will have the chance to present her case to a jury on Nov. 5.
Defense Attorney Ron Kuby, who is representing Okoumou, said his client is eager for her court date, calling the jury system, "the conscience of the people."
She pleaded not guilty on July 5 to charges of trespassing, interfering with agency functions and disorderly conduct.

I'm hoping she gets sued.
Alleged climber? I hope they got the right clymer.
Deport her and save the taxpayer money on a trial.
Alleged climber? I hope they got the right clymer.
*********
Maybe due process requires that we refer to Lee Harvey Oswald’s “alleged” assassination of JFK. I hope they got the right assassin.
“Alleged”. Pff.
That word should be reserved for acts done OUT of the public eye.
This act is as “alleged” as the existence
of the statue itself.
One way ticket , back to Africa

“In 2003, she filed a wrongful-termination lawsuit, charging racial discrimination after being terminated from a job as a staff member at a battered womens home called Safe Horizons. Okoumous supervisor complained that she was rude to different staff members and customers at the shelter, as per court records. Her legal advisor, in the end, pulled back from the case and she represented herself, unsuccessfully for the rest of the case.”

will have the chance to present her case to a jury on Nov. 5.
What is her case? She wasn’t there? It was someone else? What a crack of crap. Waste of court time and money!
Kuby? That figures.
Clymer as in reporter-a-hole
A court case against a person of ‘protected status’ in New York City. I foresee and person getting off with little more than a slap on the wrist and freed to go about the city causing more havoc.
I have no faith in the legal system as a fair and unbiased entity.

Deport her back to the Congo where she came from.
