My friends in Egypt and actions of el Sisi, prevented a total takeover of the ME by the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorists.

Assad and his father before him were great promoters of Islamist Terrorists. Hezbollah and Hammas.

Assad and Saddam were both Baath Party. Must admit, neither persecuted Christians, unless they opposed the rulers. But those Christians under the Baathists were never really safe nor really free.

Lebanon is the seat of the Islamist treachery there.

Assad is deeply dependent upon Iran and the Mullahs. He owes them. The Mullahs are the most evil of the Totalitarian rulers. They have executed by hanging more than 10,000 political dissidents.

This is a complex conflict. It is the ME.

So, do you think the deep state has Trump hog-tied?

“Do you just suppose there might be more going on? Just maybe.”

The chances, as I see it, are slim and none at this juncture. The net the deep state and its GOPe handmaidens have managed to weave over Trump has been very effective. I actually marvel as his ability to move the ball despite all of it. As I see it they nailed him before he had a chance to really get his bearings and to completely understand the forces that are marshaled against him. So while I truly hope I will awaken one morning in the not too distant future and see all this trash being marched to grand juries, I doubt that that’s the case. Might want to ask Sessions what’s goin on with “his boy” Huber out in Salt Lake City!

I think Dr Spock would affirm your conclusions as most logical.

No, I think Sessions is a feckless and useless POS who is allowing the domestic enemies of this country to do whatever they want to do in their ongoing efforts to remove our duly elected president.

Sessions is the worst appointment in modern American history, and anyone who thinks this is all being done as some sort of a 99-D chess match is an idiot.

I understand - you are saying Sessions is a feckless and useless POS - but my question was about Trump:

Do you think the deep state has the upper hand over Trump at this point, or do you think Trump has the upper hand? When you say that thanks to Sessions, the deep state can do whatever they want - are you saying Trump is boxed in, dead in the water, hobbled, hog-tied, whatever?

I get it that you blame Sessions but regardless of blame, I’m trying to gauge what you think the outcome will be - is Trump winning this, or losing?

Its not the deep state and never Trumpers holding him back it’s the fool GOP led senate that won’t give him the go ahead. I hope after the Mid Terms he’ll gain enough support to fire Sessions and the deputy. It would be great if the wussies would vote on a resolution to end the special prosecutor as well. Mueller gonna have a report that is at least somewhat critical of Trump. Be great to short circuit that but I don’t think our guys have the balls.

Trump can't win this right now because there's a hugely important election in a couple of months that firing the POS could jeapordize. There are also more than a few never-Trump republican senators that would oppose any new nominee. It's a no-win situation brought to you by the spineless POS who is supposed to lead the DOJ.

Of course, Trump just killed pay raises for 2 million federal employees right before an election so who knows what the hell he's thinking.

If we pick up seats in the Senate and hold the House in November, Trump sends the recuser back to his hollow tree in Alabama. Nothing happens until after the election. Rosenstein needs to go as well. The new AG can force Mueller to keep his investigation focused on Russia collusion rather than chasing every friend, relative and associate of Trump and using fabricated charges, and anything else at his disposal, to find dirt (real or imagined) to use against Trump. Sessions was supposed to prevent this from happening but more than a few here want to believe that all of this intrigue is intentional and that tens of thousands of indictments will rain down on our enemies shortly and that justice will be served.

The willful stupidity and ignorance of these people is absolutely mind-boggling.

“Of course, Trump just killed pay raises for 2 million federal employees right before an election so who knows what the hell he’s thinking.”

See, that’s the Trump I know. I don’t buy the theory that he’s afraid of mild mannered Jeff Sessions and some Rino Senators - but we’ll see what happens after the election - I think it will be more of the same with a difference AG - if there even IS a different AG.

“...but more than a few here want to believe ... that tens of thousands of indictments will rain down on our enemies shortly and that justice will be served...”

I don’t think that will happen regardless of who is AG - Trump is not interested in leading a Republican witch hunt. The Legislature will have to be clamorong for it before he gives his DOJ the go a ahead. It might happen in a couple years or never - but it won’t be a Trump inspired purge - it will have to come from we the people - via the legislature. Like a citizens arrest - we the people will have to press charges, not Trump.

Even tonight in Indiana he said “at some point I might have to get involved” - how long has he been making that same tepid threat but not acting? Almost two years? And you think he’s suddenly going to throw people in jail after the midterms?

I doubt it. He’s draining the swamp through attrition, deregulation, pay cuts, and the ballot box - I doubt he’s suddenly going to lock up dozens of deep state bureaucrats or ex officials from the Obama administration.

I guess we’ll see in November - a new tough AG is suddenly going to lock up a bunch of Democrats? I don’t think so.
