Trump can't win this right now because there's a hugely important election in a couple of months that firing the POS could jeapordize. There are also more than a few never-Trump republican senators that would oppose any new nominee. It's a no-win situation brought to you by the spineless POS who is supposed to lead the DOJ.

Of course, Trump just killed pay raises for 2 million federal employees right before an election so who knows what the hell he's thinking.

If we pick up seats in the Senate and hold the House in November, Trump sends the recuser back to his hollow tree in Alabama. Nothing happens until after the election. Rosenstein needs to go as well. The new AG can force Mueller to keep his investigation focused on Russia collusion rather than chasing every friend, relative and associate of Trump and using fabricated charges, and anything else at his disposal, to find dirt (real or imagined) to use against Trump. Sessions was supposed to prevent this from happening but more than a few here want to believe that all of this intrigue is intentional and that tens of thousands of indictments will rain down on our enemies shortly and that justice will be served.

The willful stupidity and ignorance of these people is absolutely mind-boggling.

“Of course, Trump just killed pay raises for 2 million federal employees right before an election so who knows what the hell he’s thinking.”

See, that’s the Trump I know. I don’t buy the theory that he’s afraid of mild mannered Jeff Sessions and some Rino Senators - but we’ll see what happens after the election - I think it will be more of the same with a difference AG - if there even IS a different AG.

“...but more than a few here want to believe ... that tens of thousands of indictments will rain down on our enemies shortly and that justice will be served...”

I don’t think that will happen regardless of who is AG - Trump is not interested in leading a Republican witch hunt. The Legislature will have to be clamorong for it before he gives his DOJ the go a ahead. It might happen in a couple years or never - but it won’t be a Trump inspired purge - it will have to come from we the people - via the legislature. Like a citizens arrest - we the people will have to press charges, not Trump.

Even tonight in Indiana he said “at some point I might have to get involved” - how long has he been making that same tepid threat but not acting? Almost two years? And you think he’s suddenly going to throw people in jail after the midterms?

I doubt it. He’s draining the swamp through attrition, deregulation, pay cuts, and the ballot box - I doubt he’s suddenly going to lock up dozens of deep state bureaucrats or ex officials from the Obama administration.

I guess we’ll see in November - a new tough AG is suddenly going to lock up a bunch of Democrats? I don’t think so.
