Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, who was Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)s running mate in the 2008 presidential election, has been excluded from his funeral. Breitbart News has independently confirmed an earlier report in People magazine, which reported that Palin was not sent an invitation, and was told through intermediaries to stay away from the ceremony.
McCain fundraiser Carla Eudy confirmed to People that Palin had not been invited possibly, People speculated, at the behest of the McCain family.
The news comes on the tenth anniversary of the date in 2008 when Palin was announced as McCains pick for Vice President.
Palin now joins President Donald Trump on the list of those barred from the funeral.
But unlike Trump, Palin never feuded with McCain and never criticized him.
When news broke on Saturday of McCains passing, Palin said: Today we lost an American original. Sen. John McCain was a maverick and a fighter, never afraid to stand for his beliefs. John never took the easy path in life and through sacrifice and suffering he inspired others to serve something greater than self.
John McCain was my friend. I will remember the good times. My family and I send prayers for Cindy and the McCain family.

Especially when the person at fault is the one who’s all pissy and vindictive. Sarah was the only thing right about that lame-assed campaign.
Excuse me for not having much respect for a pilot that crashed two flights as a flight lead, flew another formation into power lines, and crashed another Navy trainer jet enroute to go see a football game. Gee, it’s a good thing that his daddy was the 4-star or he could’ve gotten into trouble for that. He got no kills in Vietnam, had a poor reputation as an officer, was known for his numerous extramarital affairs that got back to his wife and ended his marriage, and even the most generous accounts don’t credit him with even being a mediocre pilot. Getting shot down and being a POW is the best thing that ever happened to him, that armored him against rightful criticism of his poor war record. When your negligence crashes more airplanes than you shot down, I don’t call that a successful career. This guy slid uphill because of who his daddy was and he got elected to public office because he married money and political power.
What an ass....I voted for Sarah...like a king he died in office and can rot in hell
I am so glad that man is dead I could sing.
One thing y’all forgot to mention was one of McCain’s greatest contributions to American legislation.
Y’all know what I speak of.
CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM!!!
I lay awake at night so happy that this law got passed. It’s all we heard every second of every day in the year that they voted for it.
All for McCain. He needed at least one law under his hat.
And do not forget the Keating 5, for which he was determined to be innocent.
The glory of John McCain.
I also heard a rumor, I’ll throw it out there, that McCain left some kind of speech about Trump and how he is going to destroy this country.
Just a rumor but how low can McCain go?
A petty, childish, self centered, turncoat . . both militarily and professionally
Burn, Baybee, Burn
Stop four. So now the Washington National Cathedral
for another ceremony? I find this......well I cant find the words.
About the try military history of the Admirals son, Wet Start Johnnie, and the worst disaster in naval history that he irresponsibly caused.
Hear that sound? That’s the sound of the swamp being drained! MAGA!
I to this day truly believe that John McCain ruined Sarah Palins life. Had he not picked her, she would have stayed Governor of Alaska, perhaps ran for Senate, Possibly on Trump’s administration as Energy Secretary and on to the Presidency someday. I really think Sarah Palin would have been better off never hearing the word John McCain. Everyone says that is the one good thing John McCain did for her and I could not disagree more.
Frankly, he destroyed everything he touched. Now WE can rest in peace.
“how low can McCain go?”——
to quote Tolstoy, “six feet from his head to his toes was all he needed” in “How Much Land Does a Man Need?”
McCain hated her.
Hated running with her. Hated her with passion.
It is reasonable that she would be excluded from the funeral, as it was with Trump. McCain was a very petty person, and his death did not change that.
Nah.
Ol' Mitt was (is) a non-fighter; just as McCain was.
I get the feeling he's gonna be tossing his hat in the ring for 2020.
My point was: if Romney had won in 2012, there would have been no Trump campaign in 2016.
