don’t be puzzled, it’s a common reference to say you have a haircut or something when you weren’t planning on attending something anyway because you had no interest in it.

I figured out why McCain chose to be buried at the Naval Academy:
If he were buried in a place that is accessible to us peasants, like Arlington or some Arizona cemetery, his grave would be regularly be visited by real American Patriots, who would often leave him a little something in memoriam.
At The Naval Academy, access would be very limited and closely monitored.
