Strange choice of words. I always think of “monkeying around” as silliness or horseplay or tinkering with something. I’ve never heard it as a substitute for “f’ing up”. Maybe he meant “don’t muck it up”. In any case, if he is challenged on it, he should just accuse the chanllengers of projection.
