Sorry, but McCain’s accomplishments are easily outweighed by his failures
I don’t think this is any time to list those, but I do not think this wall to wall adulation is remotely reasonable. I turned the TV off because I wasn’t going to sit through hours and hours of fake news on purpose.
He’s like that Jeff Dunham dummy, “Walter” — except that Walter is smarter and more charming.
Did they include an interview with his first wife who waited for his return from Vietnam but he ditched her because, although he was disfigured, so was she after a car accident?

I tried to take a high road on this but the McCain Family dissed Trump by making sure it was made public that the family dies not want him at the funeral. I hope Trump has leverage with Governor so he can prevent McCains wife from being appointed. What a disservice that would be for the people of Arizona. OK, so I should have taken my comment further to include, Trump did NOT praise or fawn all over McCain like all the others did. POTUS addressed the survivors but IMO, he purposely left out any comment on the man himself.
I would not have flown the flag at half staff for this man at all. He is called a war hero for doing what getting shot down then being offered release after 6 month because his daddy was an Adm head of CINCPAC but he decided to stay. Being offered freedom but deciding to stay is not a prisoner. Unlike the other POW’s he could have left at any time. You can bet he was not treated like the other prisoners. Want to read about a real hero look up Donald Cook POW in Vietnam the only Marine POW to receive the Medal of Honor. He was not offered his freedom died as a POW Dec 8th 1967
Look at some of McCain’s finer thing he has done during his life time
1. McCain was at the center of the Forrestal fire 7/29/1967
that killed 134 and injured 161. He was reassigned someplace else. Word is they were afraid someone will kill him. Also keep in mind that Daddy was J. McCain Jr head of CINCPAC during this time. Grandpa was also an Adm in the Navy. This connection is why he was offered his freedom after 6mos when he was a POW.
2. Crashed 4 planes.
3. One of the leaders in the gang of 8 with Ted Kennedy who
wanted to give citizenship to all illegal’s
4. Meeting with and supporting radical Islamism in Syria
5 Pushed for the IRS to target conservative groups.

8. McCain war hero has long sought to bury information about POWs left behind in Vietnam why is that? Was it because his captors were nice to him?

10. McCain was offered his freedom 6mo after his capture due to his family connections in the military. He turned the offer down. If you are offered freedom and decline it you are not a prisoner when you are staying of your own free will.. McCain could have left anything he wanted
A guy here locally that is a stalwart BSA volunteer was an Ensign on Forrestal the day of the fire.
He said the entire ship would have been lost save a seaman cannily knowing how to trigger the fire suppression system.

Unfortunately, he’s been all too relevant, all too recently. Right now, he’s just a temptation for freepers to violate the unwritten rules of civility and good taste, because the media won’t shut up about him, and this bogus worshipfulness of him grates on many people’s nerves, including my own. I keep hearing Rush parodies playing in my head, and I just know I could do one better, but I da’sn’t, because it’s not nice. Just wait ‘til Obama kicks off! I’ll satirize him until Michelle’s eyes bug out and she has a hissy fit.
