I would not have flown the flag at half staff for this man at all. He is called a war hero for doing what getting shot down then being offered release after 6 month because his daddy was an Adm head of CINCPAC but he decided to stay. Being offered freedom but deciding to stay is not a prisoner. Unlike the other POW’s he could have left at any time. You can bet he was not treated like the other prisoners. Look at some of McCain’s finer thing he has done during his life time
