I have asked Secretary of State @SecPompeo to closely study the South Africa land and farm seizures and expropriations and the large scale killing of farmers. South African Government is now seizing land from white farmers. @TuckerCarlson @FoxNews
President Trump, in a tweet, Aug. 22, 2018
Its not the first time a segment on Fox News gets the president tweeting. But its the first time Trump claims South African farmers are being mass-murdered.
This myth was fueled by white supremacists for years before it surfaced in a presidential tweet.
More than two decades after the end of apartheid, South African farmland owners remain a predominantly white group. Fringe groups in South Africa and the United States say these white farmers are targeted and killed at disproportionately high rates. Theres no evidence for this claim, experts say, but it feeds the white-supremacist agenda by stoking racial resentment and division.
Trump made two claims about South Africa in his tweet: that the government is seizing land from white farmers and that a large scale killing of farmers is underway.
The presidents first claim about land seizures has some merit but is mostly false. Trumps second claim, that South African farmers are being killed on a large scale, is a fiction not supported by data.
We have no clue how this myth about farmers being killed ended up on the presidents Twitter feed. It didnt come up on Tucker Carlson Tonight, the Fox News show Trump referenced in his tweet. But it has been swishing in the alt-right and white-nationalist ether for years. The Fox News segment may have jogged Trumps memory about something he came across previously.

This is plain evil. I have several friends and acquaintances from South Africa, several are actually members of a rottweiler fan board on facebook (it’s common to have several in their homes/farms as guardians.)
It’s mass slaughter over there.
Facts dont fit the WaPo agenda.
I’m pretty sure President Trump has better Intel on what is happening in South Africa than the WaPo.
Just the same as they never mentioned Rhodesia until the majority of murders were over.
Except when they cried for what a tough struggle the new Rhodesian rulers must have had.
We live in Orwellian times. The facts in South Africa do not fit the hate Trump narrative of the propagandist Washington Post. Hence the facts are mutated to fit the story.
I have asked Secretary of State @SecPompeo to closely study the South Africa land and farm seizures and expropriations and the large scale killing of farmers”... .
“.....closely study... ..”...
As I read that statement, where does it say that is indeed “fact”? “Closely study” suggests to investigate or am I missing something?
Hey Salvador.
Maybe the President has access to information that you don’t. Maybe what you label as myth because of your limited access to information isn’t a myth at all.
But that would never occur to you, would it, Sal?
Must be true, we read it on the internet.
A WHITE FARMER IS KILLED EVERY FIVE DAYS IN SOUTH AFRICA AND AUTHORITIES DO NOTHING ABOUT IT, ACTIVISTS SAY.
COMING TO A NEIGHBORHOOD NEAR YOU!
Soon.
Rest assured, if Trump had tweeted that everything in South Africa was great, the WaPo and NYT would have written story after story about how murder was rampant in South Africa.
‘The white minority took our land. Enough is enough’

Salvador Rizzo carries water for anti White forces in South Africa.
Especially when it comes to race
The medias biggest bias
DAMNED LIES AND STATISTICS ABOUT BLACK-ON-WHITE FARM MURDERS IN SOUTH AFRICA
I guests wapo is calling newsweak fake news.
Seems Salvador Rizzo, despite being a journalist, is not capable of understanding the meaning of simple phrases in the English languages. To help him out: when somebody asks somebody to study something, it is not an assertion of facts.
... the South Africa land and farm seizures and expropriations and the large scale killing of farmers.
This is the object of what he had asked Pompeo to study. Now one may infer that Trump is committed to the idea that there are indeed large scale killings of farmers and land seizures. But this is an inference of the hearer. A more reasonable inference is that Trump is not committed to these ideas since he is asking somebody to study them.
The gist is he thinks the matter worth looking into.
Salvadar Rizzo seems to have a rather odd attitude for a "reporter"...calling the desire to investigate something a lie.
