A Guatemalan man has been charged in the attempted kidnapping of a woman at a Jasper Park, as well as for trying to lure a teen into his vehicle in an unrelated incident on the same day
Jasper Police Chief J.C. Poe identified the suspect as Bernardo Castro-Gabriel, 22, also known as Omar Sanchez.
Police say the incident happened about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday at Gamble Park near the Walker College Campus of Bevill State Community College on Gamble Avenue. The victim, whose name and age aren't being released, was jogging on the park's track when police say the suspect - later identified as Castro-Gabriel - grabbed her and pulled her to the ground by her ponytail.
He then dragged her to his car which was parked close to the track, Poe said. "He was dragging her to the car, opened the door and she continued to kick him and broke free and ran away,'' the chief said.
The victim ran to another park-goer who called 911. The victim was taken to the emergency room where she was treated for minor injuries.

Stuff like this is why I really think immigrants should arrive as families, not single men. People send their no-account boys over to the US and hope for the best. In the annulment cases I have read (part of my job), there is a pattern of people sending a boy to the US from the Philipinnes or China or South America, and they have no male example to follow over here, so they become old boys, not young men. Greedy, short-sighted, unskilled. If they have charm, they win a woman over and she becomes the steady-job holder of the family. If no charm, well, I think some try to get a woman by force.
