Rudy Giuliani said Thursday "the American people would revolt" if President Donald Trump was impeached.
In an interview with Sky News, the president's lawyer claimed there was "no reason" for an impeachment and called Trump's former attorney, Michael Cohen, "a massive liar.
"You could only impeach [Trump] for political reasons, and the American people would revolt against that," the former mayor of New York City told Sky News.
Cohen pleaded guilty to paying hush money to a porn actress and a Playboy model at the request of a "candidate" whom Cohen's lawyer, Lanny Davis, said was Trump in order to influence the election campaign.
But Giuliani said he believes Trump has been "completely cleared" by Cohen's testimony, scoffing at whether it would be inevitable the president was impeached.
"Hardly," he said. "I think it's inevitable he won't."
"You have this Cohen guy, he doesn't know anything about Russian collusion, he doesn't know anything about obstruction, he's a massive liar," he added.

“I do believe their might be bad feelings with the populance if the deep state trys to impeach Trump.”
It would undoubtedly lead to a most unpleasant condition.
True that. We endured Øbama, opposed his policies sure, but never played the I card.
The left is already revolting. (pun intended)
Soap box, jury box, ballot box, cartridge box.
The soap box is mostly gone — the media is a Leftwing organ.
The jury box is mostly gone — the courts are run by activist Leftwing judges.
We elected a good man who could actually bring us back to the country we were supposed to be. If the other side illegally impeaches Trump, then the ballot box is also gone.
We’ve been patient.
The time for choosing may be approaching. We can be slaves or we can be free.
And not window-breaking, trashcan throwing kind of revolt. Not even the Palestinian rock-throwing, homemade rocket kind.
This will be the tree of Liberty kind.
Yes. We know it, we know what we feel in our gut, but frankly, my guess is every D, R, and I, Trump supporter is working to many hrs ( w/ overtime ) and doing so well, they might not have the time for a massive protest in DC if impeachment became a reality, which has a snowballs chance in hell IMHO because we are not going to loose the House.
Like Sundance says, exercise your "cold anger" aka go to the polls and encourage those you know and love to do the same and vote for the most Constitutionally minded / Trump supporting candidate you can find from Dog Catcher all the way up to your Gov & Senator.
What Rudy said is far less crazy than 99% of what the “news” media says.
While Mueller, and company, conduct their own personal political crusade / witch hunt.
While the msm reports all of it it as fact.
A revolt over impeachment? The reasonableness of Rudy’s statement depends on what he means by “revolt”.
If he means that many Americans would become very angry, he’s right. There would be a few protests in the street. And angry calls to talk shows. A few complicit GOPe politicians would lose their seats.
But if he means that Americans would take open - and perhaps violent - action to reverse the impeachment, he’s dead wrong. And the very few people who tried would get the Ruby Ridge treatment.
Don’t get me wrong. There is a point where the average American would reach for a rifle. But if Trump is removed in a legal, constitutional process (however slimy) - that won’t do it.
100% accurate and honest prediction.
They do it at their own peril. I think they know it.
If they try to impeach Trump, I think I will burn a few vacation days and go see our nation’s capital. I haven’t been there for quite some time. I would hope to make a few million new friends while I’m there.
The military put Trump in office and yes they will react violently if the DS tries to remove him.
Well, it might make some reconsider some things, like:
1. Why play by the rules when the other side doesn't?
2. Maybe tracking down the location of some of the "players", learning their habits, and choosing an appropriate time isn't such a waste of time
3. Maybe it's the end of that "awkward phase" Claire Wolf wrote about roughly 20 years ago.
4. That perhaps there is a pattern of a long train of abuses seeking to subject the people under despotism.
Who knows?
>>Dont get me wrong. There is a point where the average American would reach for a rifle.
The average American is a coward, as evidenced by a couple posts in this thread. But there is a 3%, which is an army of 10 million who arent willing to live in socialist chains becuase slimy but legal processes were used to overturn an election.
The people using the slimy but legal processes are the ones who told us to ignore Obamas irregularities becuase the integrity of the election process was more important.
DEMOCRAT is the ENEMY of the PEOPLE!
I want that on a hat.
Damn right we will.

I’m at that point, if they dare.
No, thank you.
Would he have been eligible if he were, indeed, the bastard son of Frank Marshall Davis, an American citizen? ‘Cause I believe he is.
