Lt. Col. Ralph Peters, a former Fox News military analyst who left after accusing the network of "assaulting our constitutional order and the rule of law" in collaboration with President Trump, talks to CNN's Brian Stelter about his views on President Trump's impact on the country.
"What is the most dreadful part about it, for you?" Stelter asked.
"The most dreadful part is that we have a president who does not respect our system of government," Peters said. He continued to say his former employee FOX News were "prostitutes," "amoral," and "opportunistic... People that only listen to Fox have an utterly skewed view of reality."
PETERS: The people supporting Trump are radicals, these couch-potato anarchists. They’re people that don’t have a program to make America great again. And by the way, America’s great right now. Rather, they’re destructive. They want to tear things down. They want vengeance. And Trump is brilliant at that. He’s done what autocrats and charlatans and false messiahs throughout history have done. He’s told his core supporters, “You are not to blame. You are not to blame for the mistakes you’ve made. You are not to blame for your failures. It’s them. It’s minorities; it’s immigrants; it’s fake news.”

Welp...another one bites the dust. Not that I watch CNN anyway. When I see a monitor in the airport or other public place showing CNN I turn my back and walk away quickly.
Colonel Ralph Peters has wandered off into a fever swamp largely of his own making, and he hurls rants and ravings at anyone within listening range. Fuming with his own poorly concealed prejudices and with all the conviction of a fiery stump preacher, he calls down fire and damnation of those who dare to cut new channels through that morass that is Washington DC, and expresses negativity on a scale that rivals Samson thrusting against the pillars, causing the temple to collapse on the Philistines.
Where's the outrage?
When one party is expected to observe all the niceties and decorum of a civilized society, but the opposition is allowed, unrestrained, to run wild with fake news and events, where's the rational behavior in that?
Actually, I think the issue is that most of us have utter contempt for our system of government. Now, if we had a government of honest public servants operating under the constitution... and rainbows and unicorns

Lt. Colonel is not too high on the food chain. In a war he’d have as much say as a private. You don’t get anywhere in the military without following orders and keeping your mouth shut. Must be an angry man-not too manly. .......................... I have always considered the LTC rank to be the most dangerous.(Politically) Note how many seized power in other nations. They go from LTC to El Supremo. I was a non political LTC assigned to a couple of Generals who had no political ambitions. When I made Col. my General may have, but I left before I could find out. Peters was a “Hey look at me” LTC who craved the spot light.
He and those that think like him think it is THEIR government, they don't think we the people should have any say so. What makes them angry is we the people elected someone that believes our government should not be controlled by well...swamp people. That is what he means...Trump does not respect the swamp people and their swamp system.

Things must’ve changed since I left then. The nicest people I ever met were O-9s and O-10s and my warrants. At that level you have almost nothing to prove to anyone and you ain’t going anywhere. Afterwards I worked for Al Haig, who has some of the traits you speak of but was also a combat commander. He would’ve made 5 stars if they were still doing that in the modern era.
