Isn’t it curious/odd that these “fines” NEVER approach the amount of money that was illegally contributed?
I heard, but have not been able to verify, that the Ophonybama campaign got $2 million (my guess is that he got MUCH MORE!) in illegal contributions, yet he only got fined $375k?
LESSEE, $2.0m - $375k = $1.625k to the good!
If they are going to fined, FEC should take all the illegal money and THEN ADD in the fine!
OTOH, when the FEC gets around to fining, it is long after the election, and, besides, it is no skin off Ophonybama’s ass - all the money is donated anyway!
Slap on the wrist, insignificant fine — 10 years later!

What about all those credit card donations for odd amounts? That seemed to be coming from overseas but that the 0vomit campaign never questioned? Those were in the millions. The ones that if you converted from $ to midEast currency turn out to be nice round numbers?

I just found out about Duncan Hunter - thanks to FR. Don’t see how comparing the two can work as obozo’s campaign took in illegal contributions and supposedly Hunter and his wife SPENT for personal reasons political contributions. I feel awful about the latter...respected him and his dad very much. Hope it’s not true!! Something has to be screwy as he is too smart a person and respected to have gone this route. Isn’t he?
And remember when he said he was so popular he would have the first billion dollar campaign......
His adoring voters were apparently throwing money at him (smirk).
Then late in the campaign he announced he was broke.....he had to borrow money in order to finish the campaign.

When it comes to Trump, they’re chasing boogeymen but Obamarx got off pretty much scott free for all his illegal doings, even when he was caught.
Hmmm .... Obama’s campaign Failed to disclose millions of dollars ... got a $350,000 fine ...
All? Don’t be silly, like cockroaches and voter fraud, for every incident you manage to catch you can be sure that there are a 100 that have slipped under the radar.
