U.S. Senator Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, warned President Donald Trump on Tuesday over a possible pardon for his former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort.

“Any attempt by the President to pardon Mr. Manafort or interfere in the investigation into his campaign would be a gross abuse of power and require immediate action by Congress,” Warner said in a statement.

LOL. Marc Rich and Oscar Lopez Rivera. Now those are real criminals who Clinton and Obama pardoned. Congress can do nothing about Presidential pardons period.

No, Mark Warner is not the son of John Warner. In fact, they ran against one another with John winning.

How soon could the president pardon Manafort if he chose to do so? Right after a quilty verdict makes Manafort ‘a convict’?

As soon as he wants. Pardons don't require a conviction. From Presidential Proclamation 4311 (boldface added):

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GERALD R. FORD, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, pursuant to the pardon power conferred upon me by Article II, Section 2, of the Constitution, have granted and by these presents do grant a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974.

It’s time for the president to go scorched earth and declassified everything! This is it sink or swim and it’s high time for him to get on the offensive! If they remove him I hope and pray to God our side has the fortitude to fight and bring those responsible down! We will find out what America will be made out of wimps or fighters! Slaves, spineless or valiant men and womem? I’ll pray for the latter!!

How is this whole trial not falling under the “poisoned tree” concept?

The Mueller investigation was started due to invalid reasons.

“”Morons...why would Trump pardon Manafort?””

Why not? He still has another trial to go through in DC but he can take them one at a time.

We could talk about NOT PARDONING him when we see all the crooks in the obozo administration - Clinton, Lerner, Comey, Rosenstein, Ohr, Brennan etc., go on trial for their crimes. Those are NOW crimes not 10-15 years ago that the MSM isn’t interested in pursuing - nor is Warner. When we see the law/justice carried out equally, we’ll shut up but that’s not now!

What in the heck does Warner think the Legislative Branch can do to rein-in it's equal, the Executive Branch?

Warner's full of threatening hyperbole and bluster, but he knows Trump can pardon Manafort and there's not a thing the democRATS in Congress can do about it.

I can't imagine Trump leaving Manafort to hang out to dry, when he is really only collateral damage of the Mueller witch hunt against Trump. He'll reward him for keeping his mouth shut.

“”Duncan Hunter just got indicted””

Son of a gun - I hadn’t heard that. I had no idea. If true, what on earth would possess a guy like that to do such a thing? A former Marine officer, served in Iraq and recalled for Afghanistan with a respected, admired father who stepped away from Congress to run for president. He didn’t keep his seat while he ran like everyone else has. His dad has to be crushed...I’m really disappointed if true...

FUMW! You're an embarassment to Virginia and the United States Senate.
