Two teens who had been reported missing were among the four people killed and 54 people shot this weekend in Chicago, as the city's gun violence epidemic continued unabated.
The weekend tally was up compared to the same weekend in 2017, which saw 48 people shot and five killed, officials told Fox News on Monday.
Raysuan Turner, 16, and Darnelle Flowers, 17, were found Sunday night at about 11:57 p.m. shot to death in a field on the Far South Side of the city, police said. They had vanished day earlier, FOX 32 Chicago reported.
Earlier Sunday night, five people were shot after a weekly softball game in the Grand Crossing neighborhood. Police said a group of people had gathered for a game when a black van pulled up and someone in the vehicle opened fire. One of the victims was listed in serious condition, ABC 7 Chicago reported.
Across the city, the news of weekend shootings were coming in faster than police could get to the scene.

Trump should listen to their concerns, then follow up by calling out the National Guard to patrol these neighborhoods. He will ultimately be considered a hero and minorities will continue to flock to him. (I'm sure the left will have conniptions about the "occupation" and "martial law" that Trump "imposed", but so what?).
Camden, New Jersey had something similar happen a few years back when Chris Christie called in the State Police to take over policing the city. It worked quite well. As it appears that Illinois is not willing to take this step, so Trump should move now.

Screw Chicago. That smart-assed, loud mouthed little punk Emanuel guarded 24/7 by thugs with badges knows everything about everything. Let him figure it. Normal cops no longer give an iota of a damn and who can blame them.

That’s easy to say, but a cop out. What’s the solution?

Then the political structure would lose a whole lot of money. It’s like prohibition where Chicago politicians were paid off by the outfit.
I don’t believe Trump can call out the National Guard absent the governor’s request. And maybe the mayor’s. We remain a Federal Republic despite attempts to tear it down.
As I wrote over on Hannity the other day: it’s a shame we can’t dress up as zombies and scare the whole political class out of the country.
Is that not the typical weekend in the windy city?
Blame the police for not doing enough... er I mean blame the police for being over aggressive and doing too much....er I mean blame Trump....er I mean blame it on racism....anything other than those ACTUALLY responsible.
