The federal judge who had ordered the government to restart the Obama-era DACA deportation amnesty in full backed off his decision Friday and said the government does not, after all, have to begin accepting brand new applications.
Judge John D. Bates acknowledged the legal mess thats arisen around DACA and said he didnt want to make it worse, so he issued a partial stay of his own ruling.
That means that while illegal immigrant Dreamers who already have had DACA protections can apply for renewals, no brand new applicants can apply to start the process.
Judge Bates also delayed part of his previous ruling that would have allowed those with DACA to apply for special protections known as advance parole permission to travel outside the U.S. and then return which can, in some cases, turn into a pathway to citizenship.

He apparently realized that he was violating seperation of powers and ordering the executive branch to execute a policy that actually is in violation of immigration law and that he was going to get not just overturned but probably humiliated on appeal. So he narrowed it to protecting people already in the process previously established (i.e. not really ordering the execs to do DACA but telling them that the people in the process have certain rights due to prior decisions to enter them into said process). Still could be overturned but probably with less “you are an idiot” tone to it.
How do you get elected President on an American Birth Certificate that doesn't exist?
"Judge Bates declared himself unworthy of his own turd, sentenced himself to turd polishing for life."
The Legal System in America is corrupt and want to legislate from the bench. As a retired Police Officer I would be very careful before convicting anyone if I were on the jury.

LMAO....anyone that’s sane knows you can’t polish a turd.
One can perfume it, but a big, red ribbon bow on it, but ya just can’t polish it.
IF one tries, all that happens is that the outer crust get’s knocked off and inside all one has is the same old shite.
You cant polish a turd, but you CAN roll it in glitter...
I thought it was a second judge who rescinded the order and I was looking forward to the duel with pistols to settle the issue. No such luck.
Once again, our feckless, corrupt US Congress cares little about dereliction of duty.
Bad idea. How about the innocent cargo in the train which affects the economy of business they are delivering to? Someone should just push this liberal asshole off a building at 1 am..
For Pete’s sake, he ruled on an EXECUTIVE POLICY MEMO which is not even a LAW!
Where in the frick do such judges come from?
“...Where in the frick do such judges come from?...”
They’re part of the BORG. They’re hatched in the hive.
And they don’t need no stinkin’ Constitution.
They just rule over the “unwashed masses” as they see fit.
Nasty critters, they are.
Sadly there are far too many supposed judges that ignore the law now and decide cases on how they think the law should be and their own emotions.
Those need to be put out to pasture post haste.
Wait a minute. His conscience, gut feeling is burning him up so he has to mitigate his own ruling!? Think about that for a minute. Guilt is a merciless executioner.
Good. Now go to hell you F’in tyrant.
Tank of stupid gas ran out. He’ll order a new tank and get a big whiff, and then he’ll be back in business.
And then done the right thing......."Suicide"
John D. Bates
(quick look)
Yup....he’s definitely a child molester.
I think he did this on purpose, left his mark with a few crumbs hoping it won’t go to the Supreme Court over partial issue. Meaning it would stand that he was able to dabble in immigration agency policy and Presidential powers. I hope this is appealed. The give an inch and they take a mile saying comes to mind.
We need to do our best to see that these judges can’t just interfere when they feel like it.
