A crackdown on the controversial H-1B visa intended for skilled workers has struck Indian citizens harder than other foreign nationals, with federal officials hitting them with more visa denials and demands for proof of their eligibility to work.

It doesn't matter which state you are in -- you obviously know nothing about the hiring processes being employed in most of the IT industry these days.
H1-Bs, mostly Indians, dominate the IT recruiting industry from coast to coast. They are not doing IT work. What they are doing is preventing American citizens from getting employed in the IT jobs.
Indian IT recruiters from all over the country collect resumes belonging to American citizens, then blast those resumes at every IT job that opens up in any particular area.
If a business receives resumes from more than one source per applicant, the business MUST toss that person's application aside, or else they face litigation, because the Indian recruiter's firm will demand a cut of the American's earnings. This hideous practice eliminates every American from almost every IT opening, and most of the American applicants don't even know that their information is being submitted by the Indian recruiters. They just never get any replies from the hiring companies.
The hiring managers complain on job forums, such as Indeed.com, that some applicants apply for the same job 14 times. They can't figure out what is happening either.
That's just one of the dirty tricks employed by Indians in the US IT industry to displace American citizens. Once in a job, Indians hire only Indians. None of them, nor their skills, are superior to those of American citizen IT workers, but American citizens don't get a shot at any of those jobs.
The H1-B and other high tech visa programs should be abolished completely, and every Indian visa worker holder sent back to India.
Fixed if for you ;)
TexasGunLover is always shilling for imported slave labor.
“I’ve been hiring people in IT for 20 years. H1B’s are paid 100% or great for positions, and we’re audited twice a year to confirm that.”
I called it! You do make money off H1B visa abuse and you are nothing but a globalist poverty pimp.
It’s not a skill that everyone can do for very long. They either can’t keep up or they finally just refuse to learn anything new. My college GF convinced me to learn to code and she only lasted 10 years in it. She went into IT management and became permanently unemployed 3 years ago. IT managers are a dime a dozen.
Even the H1B’s are looking to go into management.
I can assure you, that is not how our company functions. What you’re talking about is extortion which is illegal.
It doesn't exactly work that way. The first time an H1B tells a client to "shut up" or leaves with a critical system in limbo, the hiring manager is in trouble. BTDT. Usually H1B's are hired as contractors for a short period of time. When I was at Wrangler, the staff constantly complained about the language barrier and openly berated them in meetings about it. I couldn't wait to get out of there.
In 2005 I did a year stint at Microsoft selling my company’s software to Microsoft and I remember how proud all those Microsoft directors and VPs were at hiring H-1B’s and I said to them “H1Bs are not just for programmers anymore, they are going to be replacing you soon.” and they looked at me like I was crazy. It was quite fun to remind them of that conversation through an email when the CEO went to a H-1B immigrant.
It has become very hard to get an H1B. It’s very hard to hire H1B’s because they need sponsors and the process takes longer than their limit to work. If you can avoid it, don’t hire an H1B right now. They only have one lady processing H1B’s in DC and she is in hospice care. S...L...O...W
My guess is that companies will go off-shore again. They didn’t learn their lesson the last time.
“What would happen to US IT salaries if all immigration was stopped immediately?”
I’ve already joked around with some of my contracts that if India and China ever get into a war and the undersea data cables get cut that I will quadruple my rate that very day.
“”Since I am a professor, I guess I can say youre full of poop shit!”
Fixed if for you ;)”
Oh, come on, I know how to spell poop: l.i.b.e.r.a.l
“if India and China ever get into a war and the undersea data cables get cut that I will quadruple my rate that very day.”
Yes, we all would!
“Gee, you’re line of business systems need fixed? Hmmm, let’s see, now. You’ve cheated Americans out of their rightful salary for 25 years, so let’s just peg this at $2,500/hr, OK?”
“I can get you a cut rate on these workers, at least 30%! All of a sudden, no American candidate was qualified to do the job and the manager was firing Americans for any excuse he could find.”
“It doesn’t exactly work that way. “
Yes, it does and has worked that way. I’ve witnessed it as have many others.
H1-B visa fraud is also illegal, but a lot of you feckless c#nts are doing it.
I think legal and filing fees to get a Green Card add up to around $10K by the time all is said and done.
It really has to gall people who are trying to do that when they see us coddle Mexicans who have flagrantly violated all of our laws.
100% correct. Age discrimination is rampant in silicon valley. And now we have reports that google has placed a hiring freeze on whites and Asians. I also personally know of people who have been fired from high level IT jobs because they were the only white person (the remaining 3 dozen were Indian origin). Imagine if this happened to an African American. Would be lawsuit city with the EEOC down your throat.
As for 1.5% attrition that is virtually impossible to attain even for the highly sought jobs at FANG companies and highest rated companies on GlassDoor. Just not possible unless of course you hire all H1Bs who are literally tied to the employer LOL.
LOL, I wasn’t trying to insult you, I was just saying the TGF is full of shit and I thought ‘poop’ was too kind. My apologies.
I was just saying p.o.o.p = s.h.i.t = .l.i.b.e.r.a.l
:)
” Just not possible unless...”
What the HR bimbos do to remove “voluntary separations” is given in the following examples.
Say someone resigns in July. The company reorganizes the project or department by survey time, then claims the position was eliminated which erases that voluntary separation.
Companies also have layoffs and choose the likely people that will leave, thereby saving some voluntary separations.
Some companies will not recognize a voluntary separation until the position is filled. If survey time comes around, they simply temporarily eliminate the position thereby eliminating the separation.
Some HR bimbos are simply liars. They will mark an employee file having been RIF’d instead of as a voluntary separation. That’s sometimes caught when the employee files for unemployment and doesn’t immediately go to another job.
They play these games to fudge the social media surveys of “The Best Company to Work For”.
