A crackdown on the controversial H-1B visa intended for skilled workers has struck Indian citizens harder than other foreign nationals, with federal officials hitting them with more visa denials and demands for proof of their eligibility to work.

So you want to give our best jobs to foreigners or give Americans and our labor market a chance

No, I want more candidates that are US Citizens! Have you ever gone to a college and looked at who is getting STEM degrees?

Do you know irritating it is to deal with immigration issues all the time? We'd much rather hire citizens, but there is no supply!

Our resident liberal would claim you are not qualified compared to an Indian that has 3 months of Java programming experience and a bogus Indian degree.

American HR bimbos would scan your resume and exclude you for that Indian, too.

A real company with thinking individuals would hire you in a heartbeat.

Even if you get a job, the tech workers are treated horribly and work 60 or 70 hours a week on their salaries. They are expected to always be on call.

I hate the Silicon Valley! We are leaving next year after my daughter graduates from college.

Liar. No one said that.

You are saying that. You're saying that you should hire a US citizen with a degree in 18th Century Farting over someone else with a degree and skill that matches the need.

Do you know how much hassle it is to hire an H1B versus a US citizen... we always want a valid candidate, but when there is no supply, what do you expect?

This is why my kids know I won't pay for a non-STEM degree...

We do everything against America and Americans but we’ll claim we love America so we feel better about ourselves.

We have been in the news in the past few years for actions that were shocking this very site that we backed the Pro-American position.

Typical liberal's group everyone together... and now apparently are anti-exceptionalism and businesses.

I have seen the devastation caused by the H1Bs and their enablers first hand over the course of many years and through many large companies. A pox on them and aholes who defend this loathesome H1B program

I’m sorry, it shouldn’t be this way.

You’d probably be a wonderful asset to some business but you can’t even get in the door due to the paper check and illegal age discrimination.

Folks, this is EXACTLY what I’m talking about.

It is absolutely SHAMEFUL what our government is doing.

“You’re saying that you should hire a US citizen with a degree in 18th Century Farting over someone else with a degree and skill that matches the need. “

Once again you are insinuating that only foreigners have the degrees and experience and Americans do not. That’s just stereotypical liberal anti-American thinking.

Every year I see hundreds of students graduate from an American university that are well qualified.

You are such an idiot for making the claims that you do.

“why we also have less than 1.5% attrition”

You suck at math, don’t you?

To have “less than 1.5% attrition” would be claiming that you have over 200 people.

You want us to believe that an organization with 200+ people has only 3 leave per year??

Feels like “jobs that Americans don’t want to do” all over again, don’t it?

And those folks are hired! They're not unemployed! The market doesn't need hundreds, it needs tens of thousands INSIDE the United States.

Have you walked into a STEM type class at a local college? I recommend you do...

That dude is obviously not being honest. The real question is why would he attempt this kind of anti-American propaganda here, of all places?

Thank you GOD! This is long LONG overdue.

I’ve talked about this several times - the banks are absolutely stuffed full of cheap labor H1B Indians...I’d say 1/4 to 1/3rd of the people in the bank buildings. Its ridiculous. There are lots of good jobs that should be filled with Americans.

Check out the medical industry if you want to see what is going on with foreign workers! My daughter is going back to school to become a software engineer because the foreign workers have driven the pay for lab workers way down.

Many of those Indian degrees are generated by diploma mill universities that issue them on the basis of money only, no question asked. The recipients then use them to get H1B visas. Once they arrive in the US, their resumes will list as many skills as required for the jobs they want. There is no guarantee that a company will get people with the right skills by hiring Indian applicants.

“And they wonder what has caused the housing shortage in the Bay Area. “

We live in Danville. It’s still too expensive for these “foreign born types.” But our local Costco ( which lies right on the border with neighboring San Ramon looks like a ME bazaar most days (they come from San Ramon and Dublin to shop, and they are very pushy, particularly with white people). When I enter the parking lot, I am surprised that there aren’t elephants and camels tethered there. And now Dublin and Pleasanton have allowed very high-density multi-story apartments to be built along I 580 and I 680, which has made those “freeways” (which both now have toll lanes) nearly impassible most of the day. We need to force the Silicon Valley to move some of their facilities out into the Central Valley where a lot of their employees now live anyway.

That guy probably works for the government, processing H1B applications.

Absolutely correct.... that's why you have to hire and fire based on performance!
