Until just weeks ago, Hillary Clinton was the face of the Democratic Party.
She was quoted ad nauseam in liberal publications, appeared regularly on MSM shows and newscasts, and, as the last Democratic nominee for president, was held up as a righteous woman wronged by the horribly wrong system (Oh, America!)
But all thats changed. The new face of the Democratic Party is a 28-year-old former bartender.
On June 26, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez knocked off the No. 4 Democrat in the House in a primary in New Yorks 14th Congressional District, defeating Democratic Caucus Chair Joe Crowley. Since then, shes been everywhere far more often than Mrs. Clinton.
Dont believe that Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is the new face of the party? Heres what Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez had to say about her: She represents the future of our party. So, there you have it. Done and done.
~snip~
Now, the Post usually reserves such fact checks for conservatives, shooting down their rhetoric (often by omitting facts). That the vaunted liberal paper would do such a fact check on the Democratic Partys new darling really is telling.
The Posts Glenn Kessler took a spin through some of her recent eyebrow-raising claims, and it wasnt pretty.
Unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs. Unemployment is low because people are working 60, 70, 80 hours a week and can barely feed their family, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said in a July 13 interview on PBSs Firing Line.
Poppycock, said the Post.

The party of the gimme free sh1t morons.
At least they now publicly admit it.
She’s a dippy millennial hispanic.
Like every caudillo from south of the border.
Interesting to hear that they are fact checking her.
Are they not wanting her front and center, becoming one of the faces of the Democrat party? It sure seems as if, up till now, she was the rock star, the rising star, the charismatic future of the party and all that.
It seems odd that a liberal publication would potentially embarrass one of their own with fact checking.
When Bernie starts dissing or contradicting Miss Alex, I’ll know her star is about to plummet like a meteor.
We should know which way the Socialist winds are blowing by the first day of Autumn; Sept. 22th.
I believe they know people are not going to go for socialism.
In hard cold reality, she’s representative of Congress - not an outlier. Clearly and indisputably, Congress (House and Senate) are overpopulated with those whose talents lie outside of the sphere in which they’ve chosen to work. Honestly, if one were trying to choose the people least qualified to hold political office, it would be hard to do worse than what we have now.
At least wait until the 6th year of Ocasio’s two year plan.
Workers and farmers are huddled around a.m. radios waiting for her word to bring us the new world of socialist greatness.
Note to white people: remember to bring your bank account passbook and checkbook and also valuables such as coin collections, original artwork, jewelry and cash. It is time for redistribution.
Support Free Republic, Folks!
I was afraid of this. Dammit, we need to keep her both viable and in front of the cameras until November.
Same goes for the Camera Hogg. Get his angry bitter little mug back in front of the cameras pronto! There’s got to be something we can do to give him an attention boost.
She is too stupid to watch herself...that sId, if she causes the Left too much trouble, she could be Arkanicided.
We knew a lot of RATs were going to turn on her, even they know she’s too stupid to come in from a thunderstorm.
Ouch. Clearly Presidential material right there. A dictatorship of the proletariat doesn't need a majority, Comrades!
Nice! She took herself out.
She would have done fine if she had just kept her mouth shut and her eyes hidden behind sunglasses. They could have passed her off as a deep thinker. Instead, she chose to be a chatterbox and flashed a pair of peepers that would have made Salvador Dali nervous... Toast.
Good one, and true. LOL!
