Fired FBI agent Peter Strzok on Tuesday thanked his supporters, writing on Twitter that he is stunned and humbled as a GoFundMe page has raised more than $250,000 for him in less than 24 hours.
Strzoks tweet did not directly address the fundraising campaign, but it came as the account had exceeded its original goal of $150,000 by more than $100,000 in just 23 hours. Its new goal is $350,000.
Stunned and humbled by the extraordinary outpouring of support already received from thousands of fellow everyday citizens taking time to fight for our country and our shared American ideals, he tweeted. Thank you.
The GoFundMe campaign was launched Monday after news broke that the FBI fired Strzok, a counterintelligence agent whom Republicans have criticized for sending disparaging text messages about President Trump during the 2016 campaign.
The money raised will be placed into a trust dedicated to covering Petes hefty and growing legal costs and his lost income, according to the GoFundMe page.
Strzok was removed from Robert Muellers special counsel team investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election after his text messages criticizing Trump surfaced. Strzok exchanged the messages with then-FBI lawyer Lisa Page, with whom he was having an affair. He was also a key figure in the investigation into Hillary Clinton's email use while secretary of State.
Trump on Monday praised Strzok's firing, tweeting finally and asking whether the Russia investigation will be dropped.
No, presumably, according to Civil “Servant” and union rules, he would not lose his pension, he’s probably not going to get what he would but if he, like all other civies, especially in the swamp, connects to lobbiests for major $$$
I don't care; it's spread the wealth.
As long as it's not taxpayer money directly or indirectly, it's a good thing.
I don’t want to ever hear any of those that donated complaining about not being able to afford health care, birth control, etc, etc, again.
the long game is the school system.
Privatization is the only way. End the NEA.
Or, use the NEA to re-institute civics 101.
Goes to prove how many stupid people there are not only in this world but this country. Strzok should rightly be in prison!
It would please me to learn that Strzok was run over by a bus.
George Soros and the deranged Tom Steyer are everyday citizens?
Since when?
Steyer is creepy. Somebody compared him to Marshall Applewhite.
.
Bleding the suckers.
He can use the dough to pay his fines.
.
Did you squeeze it?
I, too, am “stunned” by the ignorance of the contributors.
Yeah...remember Jill Stein’s receiving bunch of campaign cash? LOL
An individual has a yearly exemption of $15K for money they recieve as gifts. Anything over 15K is reportable.
Still cannot take away his shame!
The donor of the gift is usually liable for reporting and any applicable taxes when it exceeds the exclusion limits. Not the recipient.
I've not found anything where it says the gift is reportable by the recipient, only the giver, when it exceeds the exclusion amount. Even if the gift exceeds the exclusion amounts, the recipient is still not taxed. Can you show me where the recipient is responsible for reporting and paying gift taxes? At least for federal purposes?
She should file for divorce and take half before the taxes and lawyers get it all. Of course, I'm sure she will stick by her man, like Hillary did.
I said reportable, and it is. It’s in the link you posted. The 2018 exclusion is $15K.
Not for the recipient. Only for the donor. You said that it applied to the recipient. It doesnt.
I have been searching for a thread about the corrupt Strzok and his thirty pieces of silver.
Let’s just say that everyone donated one dollar. Now, we all know that is not possible, but just suppose.
If he gets half a million dollars, he only has support from half a million people in a country of three hundred thirty million.
There will ALWAYS be a few people who disagree because they think it is smart to be contrary.
