I've had that thought also. It might be the time of life where he is considering slowing down and enjoying the view. If he talked about having a vacation I missed it.

He said no more vacations just a day here and there. Yesterday was here and today is there, so let’s hope he’s back tomorrow.

You didn’t miss it. He said on Thursday that he’d be gone on Friday and then be back on Monday. I guess he needed the rest or something came up. Hope he’s not ill.
