Dinesh D'Souza's new documentary Death of a Nation seems to be unfortunately collapsing at the box office.
It has lost 20% of the theaters in just its second week, and is doing about half as well as "2016 Obama's America" did at this point in that movie's life.
Click on the link and see the consistent daily drop-off in box office receipts. It opened on more than 1000 theaters, it is now in slightly over 800.

The budget is $6m-—but that’s production only. Add Prints & Advertising, marketing, you’re probably at $8m minimum.
The way movie revenues work is the theater chain takes 50% (minimum) of your film revenues.
DOAN has grossed $4.4m so far, so Dinesh has actually realized a return of about $2.2m vs. $8m outlay. And the $4.4m is estimated-—could be higher, could be lower.
Normally by the third weekend a film is almost done in the theaters. Note also that DD is only in a theater single screen for 2-3 shows a day, vs, say, “Meg” which will be on multiple screens for 5-6 shows a day. In other words, as of right now, it will be hard for him to break even, even with DVD sales, but still possible.
Don’t waste your money on seeing MEG. Saw it Friday night on the box, Jaws was way better. The best thing about MEG is the picture on the ad.
I didn’t think it would be “Gone With the Wind.”
Personally, I thought “Mission Impossible: Fallout” was “men.” Tom Cruise does stunts. That’s it.
“Skyscraper” was a tad better. “Isle of Dogs” weird.
So far, best movie of the summer was “Ant-Man and the Wasp.” Pure action, funny.
My best friend and her husband went to see it last weekend. She said it was OK.
It was interesting. Somewhat informative, but it was a documentary trying to be a movie. It didn’t quite get there.
It was a little hard to follow.
I would have to rate it “good”, not great, not bad, just a little better than okay. Worth watching? Sure. Wait for the DVD.
Conservatives no longer go to the movies.
Another point, why did he have to narrate it himself?
He should have hired a professional “voice”.
Thanks

Ive been saying for months that Goebbels sure looks like the great grandfather of the bizarre and perpetually angry David Hogg.
>>The only thing preventing me from dubbing this one of the dumbest movies of any type that I have ever seen in my life is the fact that I am not entirely certain that something as shabbily constructed and artistically bankrupt as this actually qualifies as a movie in the first place. show more
Try watching “Masked And Anonymous” or Jane Fonda’s “FTA (aka Fu** The Army)” sometime.
Hell even Lars von Treir’s shot on video, blown up to film, movies are boring repetitive shaky-cam stinkers.
