I was waiting for my train a couple of days ago when a man with a clipboard approached me. He wanted me to sign a petition against confirming Kavanaugh. He launched into a big spiel about how Kavanaugh was such a horrible threat to “the right to choose”. I said to him, “You’re wasting your time. I’m pro-life.” I was afraid he would say something nasty, but he was very polite and moved on to the next commuter. I don’t know what he imagined he would accomplish with his petition, but I guess he was doing his bit for “the resistance”.
I answered the phone the other day and the caller was a democrat conducting a push poll for the governor’s race. It was the third time they’d called. I asked the pollster, Did you eat the baby she’d killed that morning or just threw it away?”
When she asked an incredulous “What?”
I replied “I think you are a monster.” and hung up.
I had the exact opposite happen to me at the recent Trump rally in Pennsylvania. Someone walking around with a clipboard and asked me to sign a petition calling for Democrat Bob Casey to vote to confirm Kavanaugh. I told her she was wasting her time, since Kavanaugh doesn’t need Casey’s vote anyway ... and I’d prefer to see Casey show his true colors in an election year like this.
