D'Souza's Death of a Nation has provoked prog critics' outrage: The Left Can't Handle the Truth

Unsurprisingly, Dinesh D'Souza's film Death of a Nation has made the loud voices on the left stark raving mad.  A perfect example is the film review website Rotten Tomatoes.  The eleven critics gave the film a zero.  The voting audience gave it 90% approval.  The same is true at all the typically left-wing sites that review films.

The Hollywood Reporter reviewer, Frank Scheck, was apoplectic.  He does not bother to provide any countervailing facts.  He cannot.  D'Souza's history is accurate.  But reviewers like Scheck are so committed to the lies they have been taught in college, or maybe J-school, for forty years that they leap to histrionic attacks on the film before bothering to do any research.

The hysterical reaction to this film by the left is yet another sad commentary on the state of American education.  The film is thoughtful and balanced.  Unlike privileged film reviewers like Scheck, D'Souza, an immigrant from India, sees so clearly what is great about America.  He is grateful that it is his country now.

Few if any American leftists ever express gratitude for being born in America.  They relentlessly complain and malign this country.  They have no appreciation, no gratitude for their good fortune to be American.  That's what they do.  That is who they are.

Numerous reviewers posted vitriolic comments and reviews before the film was even released.  They had not yet seen it but felt compelled to condemn it based solely on the fact that it was D'Souza's.  This is probably how most of these pseudo-journalists got through school.  They wrote papers on books they never read, on subjects they never bothered to investigate, and then they graduated with honors for toeing the party line.  For these people, ideology trumps everything, even the truth.

If they could, liberals would ban this movie.

If they could, liberals would put him in jail....

They already did...once.

I think this country is heading to a dark future if we do not stop the left.

I went to see it Saturday. If there is one way you can tell how the reviewers think it was how they focused on something that actually DOES NOT APPEAR in the movie, the comparison of Trump to Lincoln. What does appear, for about 2% of the movie, is the comparison of how divided America was during Lincoln’s time to how we are divided today. At no time in the movie is Trump compared PERSONALLY to Lincoln.

80+% of the movie is a deconstruction historically of Nazism and Fascism and the role the Left played in both. Particularly damning is something I knew before the movie, the praise the early FDR Administration heaped on Mussolini and his economic policies.

There are interviews with a number of college professors to support D’Souza’s take.

The most damning part of the movie is his interview with Robert Spencer and a few Spencer film clips. This is obviously the poster boy of the Alt-Right in the lazy media, at least until these clips are run.

Mr. Spencer is in favor of:

National Health Care System

Socialism, as long as it is well done

Those clips are going to be very difficult for the Left to respond to.

Re your tag line:

How true that is. I have a friend who seems to be slipping into psychosis. In her 40s, going through a divorce, and at first I was believing her tales of what her ex is trying to do to her, and I kept advising her to stay safe. But now her phone calls have left all sanity behind and she says people are following her everywhere and that she believes it is an international plot with the FBI and her own doctors all in it against her. They are controlling her thoughts, sending her hidden messages, etc. Cue Twilight Zone music.

I’ve tried as a professional and as a friend to tell her she is demonstrating many classic symptoms of delusional thinking, and st the very least should visit a shrink just to tell them her stupid friends think she might be having delusions. And if there is a big international plot against her for real, I will pay her shrink bill. If my friends were all telling me there is a chance I might be suffering a mental illness, I’d go talk to someone. But not her. The one with the delusions will NEVER EVER believe the truth.

This is hardly a modern phenomenon. Gilbert and Sullivan wrote in "The Mikado" (1885):
Then the idiot who praises, with enthusiastic tone

All centuries but this, and every country but his own;

The Bible says that all food is lawful to the Christian provided that he has given thanks for it. It is interesting in that context that Dennis Prager asserts that there isn’t a dime’s worth of difference between gratitude and happiness. Thus the “liberal” who has no gratitude is and must be unhappy - and the Christian who gives thanks should, arguably, also express happiness.

During the credits at the end of the movie, there is a statement saying that all the facts in the movie are documented and that you can find the documentation at DeathOfaNationMovie.com.

Maybe I misread that, because there appears to be no such information at that site. Does anyone know know if such documentation exists?

So far, I’ve downloaded the Kindle version of the book, which has many references, but I’m fairly certain that the credits said they were at the movie’s website. Am I missing something?
