Since Donald Trump became president, the Anne Frank Center has become a hotbed of leftist resistance. Instead of respecting Anne Frank’s legacy, the group, led by partisan Democrat hack Steven Goldstein, absurdly calls the victim of Nazi crimes “one of the greatest feminist and social justice leaders in history.”

If actual Nazis took over the Anne Frank Center, they could not do a better job of destroying her memory than these Leftists.

To demonstrate the myth of the “noble savage.” The simple but wholesome bumpkin Clampetts served as contrasts to the venial, scheming urbanites embodied in people like Milburn and Mrs. Drysdale.
It’s no coincidence that, even as successful as it was, “Hillbillies” was cancelled in the “decountryfication purge” that also saw the end of shows like “Green Acres” and “Andy Griffith.” (And many successful westerns as well.)
All those shows presented a strong, positive view of the heart of America. They had to go if Hollywood was going to start twisting minds and destroying our heritage.
Why?
Interesting take on those 60’s TV shows. Much like Mark Twain’s Huck Finn character. An observer without an agenda who saw society’s foibles as they are. As you say, the noble savage.
Hogan's Heroes was a casualty of that purge as well. The network of Edward R. Murrow could not be associated with such "lowbrow entertainment".
At least they are not being called “jack-booted thugs.”

The idiots have no idea how they are trivializing Hitler’s pogrom of the Jews and other “untermenschen,” because they haven’t bothered to read WWII history, much less, pre-WWII-war German history. Or better yet, post WWI, to learn how Hitler became the nastiness that he was.

As for the propaganda effect of TV, it’s there, and it’s why the rural purge occurred. Can’t have those hick programs portraying hicks in a positive light. Have to get rid of them so that we can portray the joys of ‘successful’ urban lifestyles. Out with the Clampetts, in with the Mary Tyler Moores (childless singles) and Murphy Browns (you know where that went)...
That didn't come out until after Hogan was canceled, and Bob was reduced to traveling around the country doing dinner theater (among other activities varied and sundry).
I love Hogan's Heroes. Bought the complete series DVD. Still cracks me up. Bob Crane's Hogan is the most insouciant character since Bugs Bunny.
