Keep in mind this election technically doesnt really even count. They will race again a few months from now. This could be the reason for low turnout. GOP turnout will be much higher in November during the real election.

Turn out difference or switched votes from R to D for this election. That’s the real comparison.

How does fraud depress turnout by 40%?

It doesn't. They are comparing the 2016 presidential election numbers, to a mid-term election, and a special election at that. 40% turnout probably was expected.

For the democrats to get 87% - that's the fraud. They manufactured the votes. I'll guarantee you 87% of the 2016 voters didn't cast their own votes.

Other than Trump himself, how much held did the GOPe provide to Balderson? It looks like the margin of victory was about the size of Trump’s rally for Balderson.

It’s a funny way of saying it. And I think a way of calling into question the vote counts should the late counts go O’Connors way. The correct tally would be registered R’s who normally vote for an R who voted for the D yesterday.

Help me out here. Doesn’t this mean that a lot of democrats voted for the Republican? I see % but not numbers. Is it possible that in 2016 democrat voters sat home because they didn’t want to vote for Hillary (That would affect these data points).

This is a good thing, and proves what I've been saying. The RATs are pissed and came out for the primaries, but they have hit 'peak voter output'. The GOP has MUCH GREATER CAPACITY to have larger output in November.

The 'Blue Wave' is based on a model that says 'X More' democrats will turn out in November than the primary - that model isn't going to work this year.

They already have their whole Army on the field, and they're about to get flanked.

Have to do better in November.

And we will.
The GOP will have time to look at areas that did not turn out
and address them before the general election.
Plus the GOP had better put a muzzle on Ka-Sick.

"Ohio Special Election: Democrat Turnout 87% of 2016 Total — GOP Turnout Only 40% of 2016 Total.

Therein lies the mountain that both GOPe and Trump supporters must climb. Apathy will reinstate Nancy Pelosi to the speakership.

“It is beyond me how Republican voters, knowing what this president has accomplished and how the left wants to take him down, could possibly sit anything out. Shame on them.”

Agreed, but you have to ask yourself why didn’t Balderson do better? I just hope he’s not a dud. This was not about the RAT opponent. This district has been GOP for more than 40 years. You also have to be critical of Tibiri, leaving office to go run the business roundtable in Ohio before his term is up.

I don’t understand.

If Trump’s promises of a border wall, tough on immigration, anti-amnesty, pro-tax cuts that help, reducing the deficit by ending stupid rip-offs like the Paris Accord, making peace with the NORKS, ending the awful Iranian deal, and getting much better trade deals for the United States are something you are for, and voted for in 2016...

Do rank and file Republicans rust-belt democrats believe that a Nancy Pelosi led House is going to continue on ANYTHING in the Trump agenda?

If you really want open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens, a huge tax rise, and increased government regulations on business that kills jobs, then yeah, don’t vote, because THAT is what you’re going to get.

60 percent are/were morons.

This looks just like vote fraud to me.

~~~~
Was going to say the same thing. That kind of voter participation during a main election is crazy. Even for a presidential year election.
I hope the secretary of state is investigating this after the fact. This is a good trial and opportunity for clearing up some serious issues disenfranchising the voters of the State of Ohio.
It’s all quite simple really.
The Dems are keeping the insane Trump Derangement Syndrome cranked up to 11 because it DOES motivate their electorate to get off the couch and go vote.
GOP voters on the other hand are completely disgusted with the party, aside from Trump. Ryan, McConnell and Kasich have done all they could to demotivate Republican voters.
Impeachment is a bloody shirt being used to motivate turnout. If they become the majority Dems will not try it because they know the result will be CW 2.0.
Who’s in charge of the RNC.......none other than Romney’s niece. There certainly are a lot more qualified people to run the RNC.
You’re right, its too much. I’m in a neighboring district and there’s no way any party is going to get 87% turnout in a special election. It’s a number that would be hard to reach in a presidential election year, much less an off-year, much less a special election.
"EXACTLY. No way do I believe the Dems had 87% turnout."
Smells to high even, Miz Ortez won w/ 13%, norms are 30 to 40%.
And worse I bet the S.O.S. in OH is a Kasich Toadie and will do ugats to look into this, aka purge the voter roles of the dead, felons, snow-birders, and students voting when they shouldn't and all the other DNC tricks they use.
Tell me where I am wrong here...
