I think it was more like the deep state in the U.K. than the “PM May government” per se. The internal incumbent king makers in the U.K. deep state are like those in the U.S.; they go back through many administrations and regardless of party in power.

Come, Strzok, Rosenstein. They all knew the dossier was fake from the beginning. The document was used as a prop to generate the FISA warrant, not to unearth some ghastly crime, but for the purpose of spying on the Trump campaign to help Hillary.
It was all so perfect. These operatives in the FBI were going to show what good little minions they could be for Hillary by doing her dirty work. It would have the double-bonus for them in that the work they did was illegal, and if ever brought to light, Hillary would be toast for having orchestrated the spying on Trump.
In effect, the FBI set up its own protection racket that would keep them in good graces with fat budgets and no questions asked for the entire Hillary Administration. And then the “unexpected” happened.

She had to know about it from her first briefing from GCHQ*, which probably before she became the PM.

Sessions recusal is the root cause of this witch hunt of Trump, Flynn
and Manafort. Trump will get rid of him when he thinks the time is
right.
If Sessions was caught working behind the scenes after recusing himself,
it would be a bigger scandal than his last recusal.

Suppose Eric Holder had testified to Congress that he had recused himself from certain topics, but was later found to be coordinating prosecutions connected to those topics. He would deserve a five year sentence for lying to Congress, just as a start. How is Jeff Sessions different?
