In July, China imposed import tariffs on a list of U.S. goods, including soybeans, as part of the trade dispute with the United States. China is the worlds largest soybean importer and has been seeking alternative supplies, especially in South America, where supplies available for export are down.
China has to resume purchases of U.S. soybeans, Oil World said in its latest newsletter. The South American supply shortage will make it necessary for China, in our opinion, to import 15 million tonnes of U.S. soybeans in October 2018/March 2019, even if the current trade war is not resolved.
Chinese purchases of U.S. soybeans could re-start in coming weeks, Oil World added.

Not tired of "winning" yet!

In a sane world Venezuela would jump on this.
Talk about an opportunity...
They're too busy looking for dinner. They've already eaten their zoo, now it's on to any unlucky stray dog or cat.
I hope Trump raises the tariff on soybeans again.
Oh, the US can resupply the shortages in South America, no problem. Then the South American countries can gouge the Chinese on their sales, knowing they will not run out on their end, but having a hand on the spigot all the time.
Soybeans are not at all the same thing as petroleum. Venezuela is not a major producer of soybeans. But their neighbor Brazil is, and rank second only to the US as a major producer, having some time ago surpassed China.
America wins yet again. Yet again Trump played it smart. Yet again his critics were wrong. When this is done we’ll actually have something close to free trade for a while.
A very stable genius at that!
I hope Trump raises the tariff on soybeans again.
...
That makes no sense.
Anyway. Trump knows he has the winning position.
The only way out for Venezuela is up. They have to farm and ranch. They have to export oil.
China wants oil and soybeans. Venezuela has oil and a year-round growing season.
Why isn’t there a constant stream of freighters between the PRC and Venezuela?
Global soybean production is the U.S. and Brazil, and then everybody else. (Argentina, China and India are respectable second tier producers.) Venezuela is not a player.
Why not just fire bomb soybean fields?
Actually it’s China that has the tariffs on our soybeans, but China is in a weak position and Trump knows it.
When was the last time you bought Soybeans at the grocery store?
But it is the ultimate Cash crop.
Soybeans and Corn is one of the main reasons we are getting fatter and have continue to have more Cancer.
And we all know Chinese love their “Soy Sauce”
Tofu man.....tofu
With every story like this only shows the country what fools we have had in the Oval Office who only “mouth the words” “Free Market” rather than test the waters with the force of real experience(Yes, I'm talking about both Bushes, Clinton and the pretender, Obama)
And the bonus of ruining the careers of the “experts” the Media turns to for “expert opinions” is the gravy to an already fine meal is delicious!
The article is about Venezuela and oil. Not soybeans.
Like I told you. They need US, more than we need THEM.
Starving, unemployed, Chinese workers start Revolutions.
Don’t sell to them until they meet our trade demands.
They can have all they want for 100 bucks a bushel. That should shutup the whining farm community.
