The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce previously said it would never remove a star over backlash.
The West Hollywood City Council will vote Monday night on a resolution urging the Los Angeles City Council and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to permanently remove Donald Trumps walk of fame star.
The marker, which was unveiled in 2007, has been vandalized numerous times and completely destroyed twice to date.
"The City Council will consider adopting a resolution urging the Los Angeles City Council and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to remove President Donald J. Trumps star from the Hollywood Walk of Fame, due to his disturbing treatment of women and other actions that do not meet the shared values of the City of West Hollywood, the region, state, and country," reads the agenda item for the Monday meeting.
The staff report for the resolution lists numerous reasons for the matter, including the separation of children from their parents at the border, the denial of the impacts from climate change on the word, Trump's treatment of transgendered individuals and the denial of findings from the intelligence community of Russian interference in the 2016 election, among more.
When critics called for the removal of Bill Cosby's star from the walk of fame amid multiple sexual assault claims leveled against the comedian, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said it did not remove stars over backlash and cited historical landmark status.
Trump's star was most recently destroyed in late July after 24-year-old Austin Mikel Clay allegedly took a pickaxe to it in the early morning hours. For his actions, he was booked on felony vandalism and jailed on a $20,000 bail. He has since been released.
Before the July destruction, 53-year-old James Lambert Otis was taped destroying the star with a jackhammer and a pickaxe. He later pleaded no contest to one felony count of vandalism. That was in 2016.
Otis told The Hollywood Reporter he intended to help Clay with is legal troubles.
Trump should just commission his own Hollywood Star at the entrance to his Mari Lago estate.
The star is not technically in West Hollywood is it?
Not that I see, but Kevin Spacey, Woody Allen, and Brett Ratner do, along no doubt with quite a number of other perverts and degenerates. Listen Bugs Bunny was both racist and sexist, and I think he should go next.
I’m guessing it’s really about cost.
3k to 10k to fix\replace.

Hey, hey, what can I say....
President Trump will WIN THE DAY!!
Its at Highland and Hollywood
Thats Hollywood central no?
It’s not in West Hollywood, so it won’t mean much.
He doesn't appear to.

I don't know how up-to-date this list is.
All gays ....
And their policy on not removing stars over backlash, looks to shift like the sands of the Sahara, depending on the politics of the star recipient, in this case Donald Trump.
These Leftists who destroy statues and things like this star, remind me of a toddler who whines and cries when they doesn't get their way.
Their hate and juvenile antics are what you'd expect from a bunch of immature little kids.
Move it in front of the police station
West Hollywood has no say in the matter. The star is in Hollywood.
West Hollywood, not “Hollywood”.
That’s just plain mean.
West Hollywood has nothing to do with “Hollywood”.
I was going to ask that, too.
Freak City, Kalifornia.
Ah O.K.
Hollywood Blvd. has always been the dregs. When I was a star-struck kid, it was horrible walking on that street to look at all the wonderful stars on the sidewalk.
