The media are beside themselves because of President Donald Trump’s acknowledgement on Twitter that the reason his son and a Kremlin-connected lawyer had a meeting in 2016 was to gather information on “an opponent.”

...However, a 2017 tweet by Trump made the exact same acknowledgment

Yes, it’s true. He has basically admitted collusion before.

The key point is that they were foreigners. Fusion GPS was a domestic contractor. It seems a technicality, but it’s significant.

First, “collusion” is not a crime.

Second, the meeting only lasted minutes, long enough for Don Jr. to realize what was going on. Meeting with foreigners is not a crime.

As to Fusion GPS used as a cut-out for the Hillary campaign, it simply shows the attempt to cover their trail. Neither is illegal, because collusion is not a crime.

In Hillary’s case, crimes may have been committed by attempting to conspire with the FBI to go after candidate and President Trump.

Exactly. That’s why the old message “no collusion” is dead.

The new message is “collusion is not a crime.” I’m not completely sure that the new message is accurate, however, or that we know precisely what happened. The story from Trump keeps changing and changing.

But I agree that we are far from proving those things so far. What concerns me is how very few of the things Trump has said about that Trump Tower meeting have turned out to be true. The story has changed over and over and over, and always in the direction of more contact with more Russians that more members of the campaign were involved with.

You must have been watching MSNBC. Those are the far-left talking points.

They do not have any traction.

Talking to Russians is not a crime. So “conspiring to talk to them” is not a crime.

“Accepting material value from a foreign source” is not a crime when there is no substantial value given. That is a particular stretch of the law into nothingness.

There was no acceptance of value from a foreign source, just a meeting is not accepting value, and value has to be substantial.

There can be no obstruction of justice when there is no crime.

All of these things are huge stretches of logic from nothing burgers of opinion and speculation.

I recommend you read Licensed to Lie by Sidney Powell. It shows how this type of prosecution is engaged in by Federal prosecutors, and is completely unethical.
