President Donald Trumps free-wheeling speech Thursday night included several riffs that require a second look, including a false statement about new steel mills and multiple incorrect statements about Democratic U.S. Sen. Bob Casey.
The statements were made during Trumps rally in Wilkes-Barre, where the president was stumping for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Lou Barletta.
New steel plants
Trump credited his tariffs with persuading U.S. Steel Corp. to open a half dozen new plants. That's not accurate, according to The Associated Press.

That’s not accurate according to the associated press? How about asking, I dont know, the steel mills?
Sources say the Associated Press are guilty of treason and sedition by trying to overthrow the government...
Of course. Associated Press. They are associated with communists and the Swamp
OK, here’s an example of the controversy, per the AP
Abolish ICE
Bob Casey wants to fire the incredible men and women of ICE. He wants to abolish ICE, Trump said during a section of the rally speech in which he zeroed in on immigration.
THE FACTS: Casey said at a recent appearance in Harrisburg that he does not support abolishing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, according to PennLive. I hope we have ICE focused on bad guys instead of current policy, where they are dealing with families and kids at the border. I don’t agree with the call to eliminate it, Casey said.
Here’s my take. There’s so much room for interpretation here that we can’t even score it. “It depends on what you mean, Casey.” Obviously Trump is taking the dim view of it in his opinion, and throwing in some exaggeration — he’s being the Archie Bunker president.
We can understand that’s Trump’s style. I just hope Mike Pence doesn’t continue in that exact same vein.
"U.S. Steel is opening up seven plants,"...
Then she says the "FACTS" are
The Pittsburgh-based company has made no such announcement. U.S. Steel spokeswoman Meghan Cox declined to comment on Trump's claim but said any "operational changes" such as the opening of new mills would be "publicly announced" and "made available on our website" if it occurred.
Sorry, but there is a difference between "opening up seven NEW plants" and "opening up seven plants". I recall seeing a story about Trump visiting a plant that was closed that opened back up. Why does one need to open a NEW plant when there are closed ones to re-open? What sense would that make?
Now I have not fact-checked Trump's assertion, but its not my job to. She is presenting this as a fact-check and she missed this obvious distinction. Fake news.
"In the long-term, U.S. Steel remarked that it has made progress with its $2 billion flat-rolled segment asset revitalization program, to be completed in 2020. The company expects the program to improve EBITDA by $275-$325 annually by then."

The whole dialogue has been sloppy, which has been part of the trouble. If Donald Trump orates in approximations, this gives an excuse for the news to nitpick. I don’t doubt Donald means well, and we should try to see if in a case like this, Donald meant that US Steel will soon have 7 plants open.
But I have to laugh a little... we’re looking at the Archie Bunker president, who despite his fumbles, at the end of the day means far more good than harm.
Where is the entire quote? Were you saying something about "sloppy dialog"?
Look who's talking.
In this case it’s in the thread. Are you starting in too?
Not to mention, the half-caste's idiotic, "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan".......a blatant lie.
Whatchoo calling President Trump Donald for?
Haw.
Can someone even TRY to take an objective look at the problems all around without being the subject of a nitpick war.
From Breitbart:
Monday, October 6th Wolf Blitzer took to the airwaves:
It seems no politician is safe from Saturday Night Live. While many people think SNL has mostly spared President Obama, what theyre doing now is not necessarily all that kind. They essentially cast the leader of the free world as a do-nothing president, at least so far. Even though SNL deals in comedy, what they said about the President rings true for a lot of you, apparently. So, did the show accurately capture a mood, or did it go off track for comedic effect? Lets bring in CNNs Kareen Wynter. Shes checking the facts for us. All right, Kareen, what are you finding out?
Yes, CNN fact-checked the comedy of Saturday Night Live!
The Morning Crawl wants to join the New York Times at the bottom of your bird cage.
wish someone had put this article up. can’t even find any article where it fits.

To the hysterical anti-Trump wing of the media, every sound that comes out of the Donald's mouth is being presumed to be filled with evil and malice or lies. And they see it as their duty to figure out exactly how it is so. But to those of us outside their hysteria, they look ridiculous.
While, it is a warning to all of us, not to treat those we dislike politically or philosophically with the same presumption of wrongness (even a broken clock is right twice a day)...neither should we give their hysteria an inch. We should ignore it and focus on making America great and being good people and seeking good policy...as best we can with the hysterical mud slinging going on.
