Twitter banned the account of a pro-Trump grassroots campaign with 15 state field directors along with another prominent Trump supporter, failing to reinstate the accounts on the same day that the company came under fire from the president himself for discrimination against conservatives. Eight days ago, Twitter banned the account of a pro-Trump grassroots organization called New Right US (@newrightus.) Co-founded by political activist Mike Tokes, the account represented an organization that mobilizes Trump supporters around the country.
We have over 15 state directors and a team of social media influencers throughout the country said Tokes. It wasnt just some website with no action. We were really expanding.
Because Twitter refuses to be transparent about the reasons it suspends accounts, it did not inform the owners of @newrightus, or Breitbart News, why the account had been suspended. Tokes says the account, which accumulated approximately 10,000 followers prior to its suspension, had not engaged in any rule-violating behavior.
Tokes says Twitter initially restricted the account for seven days, but that now it shows no option to reactivate, meaning its permanent.

Sounds like a conservative businessman was just presented with a great idea.
Screw twitter. Start a new one.
footnote: Although its not technically censorship if its not a government doing it. I am using the word in a broader sense for platforms that present themselves as politically neutral places of open communication targeting particular speech for a political agenda because there isn't a better word I know for this.
Trump needs to take them to task for this. The DOJ/FBI/FTC needs to look at this. Trump could suggest all government entities and employees will be prohibited from using Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube if those sites don’t stop discrimination and reinstall all conservative accounts immediately. Why not? The military bans soldiers from businesses that are not friendly or encourage bad, same should be done on bigger scale. Trump has the bully pulpit and executive orders to do this.
I wish someone would hack Twitter and teach them a valuable, 50% market share kind of a lesson.
Yes, please. Start a new one and I would join it! I was on Twitter about one day and didnt like the way they allowed followers to sign on to your account. I fled and they said if you leave Twitter, you wont be invited back (actually not near as nice as that) and I said fine with me.
If not for POTUS's making use of it, 100% tits up would suit me fine.
Every liberal is a violent totalitarian thug.
Twitter is only software, and relatively simple to write. The key is to get people to use it. It starts out empty with no action and no reason for anyone to post or visit.
Does Breitbart control content on its platform?
If so, why does Breitbart find it objectionable that Twitter controls content on its platform?
Mike Tokes? Naahh, can’t be a real name.
In case you hadn’t noticed, we no longer live under the rule of law.
We now live under the rule of whoever screams the loudest.
Breitbart didn’t make the rules. They’re just playing by them.
This needs to be counted as a campaign donation to the RAT Party.
This is real meddling and collusion. Who is going to do something about it?
This is to shut our side up before the mid term elections.
They’re locking our accounts now on Twitter, want a cell# to send code to unlock but I’m hesitant to give it to them. Me, my brother, God knows who else are getting this “locked” BS.
“Breitbart didnt make the rules. Theyre just playing by them.”
Both Breitbart and Twitter are free to control the content on their platforms.
50% market share kind of a lesson

...
That’s the problem...without it, there is no way he can get the truth out.
Mike Tokes is a Richard Spencer wannabe.
Do you want the government to prohibit social media platforms and websites from banning certain opinions?
