You don’t play politics when people need help. Whatever the President needs to do to help, he should do it. Brown and his policies are unrelated to this tragedy. Terrible, terrible situation for these people. Such loss.

Obama told Texas to pound sand after major flooding, but lucky for California, Trump is not Barack Obama.

And I’m certain he’ll authorize Federal aid, as it should be. People need help. I can’t imagine going through something like that, let alone trying to be a firefighter.

I do remember a sarcastic 0bama when Texas was experiencing wildfires a few years back. Something on the order of “I’ll bet they believe in global warming now”. He made me sick.

Sorry but emergencies like this are not the time to play politics. And I’m certain this administration won’t.

Yeah. No abuse by the stares. Or a situation created by the states. Wildfires in California are so rare they couldn’t possibly be prepared and allocate funds for this rare event. Trains to nowhere and illegal support no problem but protecting real people that’s a federal give me that.

I will donate $50 (over and above) to FreeRepublic if you publicly identify five illegal aliens working for CalTrans.

3¢ of evey federal emergency dollar will go to actual private losses. The rest will vanish into the fog of "administrive costs".

Why make Pelosi and Brown richer?

Sanctuaries are not eligible for disaster relief. Sanctuaries encourage disaster

We like Republican Californians and love Freeper Californians completely apart from our disgust with the current government and cultural trends. We all know that the Federal administration has to be “asked” for aid.

Just remember he usual carping.

Caltrans employees are required to prove citizenship, or legal status. It would benefit everyone to find any who have falsified that requirement. Well worth 50 bucks.

If by “work crews” you mean outside contractors doing construction, then those contractors may be a little looser in verifying citizenship. Out them too.

Folks, these fires are taking place on federal land.

They burn out of the National Forests to burn towns.

How do you defend against a 50’ wall of flames bursting forth from the National Forests?

Other states have fires too. This isn’t limited to California.

We’re talking about mountainous terrain. One person here suggested creating farmland strips as fire-breaks.

We’re talking about mountainous land. You can’t raise crops on the side of a mountain.

It would be a massive undertaking to cut swaths through all our forest on federal land. And then you’d have to go back over them each year to clear them off again, as brush built up behind you.

These fires will continue, because there really isn’t much you can do about them.

As for managing the undergrowth, we’re talking about a massive amount of acreage. The federal government would have to employ tens of thousands of people to create and maintain these ‘managed’ forest models, just in California alone.

Okay, if you want to manage those funds better, then I have no problem with it. If you think I want the Democrats of California to benefit from this, think again.

Ok, next Caltrans crew I see on freeway I’ll pull over and try to collect names. If you think they’re all Americans I have a bridge to sell you.

We need to help our fellow Americans. I know Brown and a lot of Californians are arrogant and disgusting, but they are still Americans......and there really ARE some good solid conservative out there.

President Trump will help, and we should all be praying for them

Well, Calif passed a very large WATER BOND about 3 years before the Oroville Dam spillway failure, and Brown wanted $$$ from Trump to repair that spillway.

Nary a word about WHERE the $$$ from that water bond went..how much was pledged & where/what the $$$ was used on.

Support the ‘Spotted Owl’ & refuse to let good timber be cut & used.

Prevent ranchers from grazing permits within the forests.

Let the fuel load build up & build up.

DO NOT do anything to stop the bark beetle from damaging trees.

More fuel build up.

NOW-—when you have a great stash of fuel load, anything that starts a fire can go on & on & on for days or weeks.

The Management of the forests has been a total joke since Bruce Babbitt & Bill Clinton changed things.

Among things changed——roads into the forests were gated with massive gates & large holes were dug right past those gates. Now, the only way to get in to fight fires is on foot, or by parachute from above.

You can lay alot of this at the feet of Clinton & Babbitt.

When someone asked Clinton what they should do about all the ‘cattle guards’ in the forests they were shutting down, he said “RETRAIN THEM”.

Shows what he knew—— ZERO.
