Doesnt matter about the elderly idiot Brown. It wasnt their fault, it was a horrible fire, and they should get help. I hope Trump is generous and does this. Most of them in that area are probably conservatives anyway.

Sure — consider it if they aid and assist ICE.

Lemme see here, they pay illegals 500 bucs a month for the hell of it.. right?! $ 500x1,000,000 + illegals could sure help a lot fighting those🔥!

Duh. Amazing you had to remind folks of that.
These funds are to help restore the private loses, and not to fill the states coffers.
Geez folks, buy a clue.

YOU have empathy from FReepers. The victims of the fire have empathy from FReepers.
Gov. Brown has no empathy from FReepers.

If WE didnt spend ALL THE MONEY we spend on ILLEGAL immigrants, we would have plenty of money to help the fire victims... That's an entirely different discussion. The OP's point was that the aid shouldn't be given *simply* because it's Governor Moonbeam who's asking.

Thanks for that. I am disappointed to see these kind of reactions. Whats up with this group? Must be the Russians.

I lived in California.
This is a self caused problem.
California refuses outright to employ fire containment measures that eighteenth and nineteenth century settlers employed.
As a Freeper who once lived Iin California, I welcome you to move here to Texas, or to Oklahoma or somewhere.
You want to live in that irresponsible whacko state well, you will keep getting what they have brought about themselves.
This is your being taught how to fish moment.
Embrace it.

This should not be a political discussion. Thank you to all the very hard working firefighters putting thier own lives on the line to preserve our safety and property!

No, that is entirely the same discussion.
That stupid line wasn’t even thoughtful rhetoric, it was just knee-jerk denial.

I like The Val Jarrett approach to governing.
“We will reward our friends and punish our enemies.”
Wonder what Moonbeam thinks of that?

This should not be a political discussion. One hundred percent correct. California created this problem through extremely irresponsible land management. It needs to handle it's problem itself without begging from the rest of the country through the political process.

This fire was caused by an arsonist. He started 12 fires that they know of.

This should not be a political discussion. This is a political forum first and foremost and the article itself is about the Gov. of CA and his request for Federal funds which is highly political.

And it can't be contained easily because California refuses outright to subdivide arid land with broad sweeps of agricultural fields and pastures which can be quickly backfired to make firebreaks broad enough to do the job in the summer wind.
Don't try to shovel a pile of self serving, Indefensible bull feces to people who lived out there and realized how utterly nuts that is.
And in advance, don't try to feed me the cr@p I usually see from Californians about how that valuable the land is. Fire doesn't care how much per acre the fuel costs.
