In my day we didn’t have fancy digital print camo hats when we were 9 year olds firing shotguns! Dagnabit! We were barefoot in the snow!
You had a shotgun? All we had were slingshots.
And hearing protection. Spoiled brat. I’d guess the shotty is an over/under, but”double barreled” sounds so much more redneck.
My dad was taking me hunting when I was about 8. Of course he had me out shooting before that. I got all the basics on the range including a strong safety course. No auto loaders till I was in my teens. Hunting at 8 was with a 22 hornet, model 43 winchester, for ground hogs. Later I graduated to an ithica side by side 20 gauge, which I still have as it was his fathers, for rabbits, pheasants and the like. The model 43 was sold by him long ago. Great days, wonderful experiences, and a time of my life I would love to repeat but cannot go back 60 years unfortunately.
What !?
Why didnt You kill 2 bunnywabbits and a coon with the shotgun and make some bunny slippers and a coonskin hat to help you stay warm?
