Remember that video of an emaciated Baffin Island polar bear that went viral last December? It became the poster bear for climate change. National Geographic made a stunning admission it was a bit bogus.
The Statement:
National Geographic went too far in drawing a definitive connection between climate change and a particular starving polar bear in the opening caption of our video about the animal. We said, This is what climate change looks like. While science has established that there is a strong connection between melting sea ice and polar bears dying off, there is no way to know for certain why this bear was on the verge of death. This is an updated version of the video.
In other words, it was completely bogus. There was zero evidence the bears condition and climate change were tied together.

Unfortunately, the new National Geographic is more likely to turn out Alexandria Ocasio-Cortezes by the thousands.
The bears look like this in summer, completely normal and I’ve read about residents up there who laugh at the phoney scientists who photograph the bears and blame global warming.
Pretty much any of their shows mention the global warming. Same for PBS shows.
National Geographic was once a great publication
Its not any more (for a while)
Soft headed leftism has no place in science.
Ditto for (un)Scientific American.
Typical Heathen Liberal Rag.
The National Geographic Magazine committed fraud...next it will say those topless native pictures were from Penthouse...
It was a huge fraud. They should be sued out of existence.
How much of taxpayer money was spent because of that picture?
The first things I thought of when I first saw this was:
1. Is the bear old and dying?
2. Is the bear sick?
3. Where are the rest of the starving and emaciated polar bears?
I tend to attempt to engage my brain every now and then, and would love it if more people would do the same thing.
Next think you know, Nissan will admit that polar bears really didn’t hug Nissan Leaf drivers.
Actually, the photo stands in opposition to the NatGeo thesis: Extrapolating from one bear, as they did, we can conclude that climate change allows polar bears to live long enough to die of starvation.
