Remember that video of an emaciated Baffin Island polar bear that went viral last December? It became the poster bear for climate change. National Geographic made a stunning admission it was a bit bogus.
The Statement:
National Geographic went too far in drawing a definitive connection between climate change and a particular starving polar bear in the opening caption of our video about the animal. We said, This is what climate change looks like. While science has established that there is a strong connection between melting sea ice and polar bears dying off, there is no way to know for certain why this bear was on the verge of death. This is an updated version of the video.
In other words, it was completely bogus. There was zero evidence the bears condition and climate change were tied together.

What about Algore’s polar bear?
>>While science has established that there is a strong connection between melting sea ice and polar bears dying off
Because polar bears eat ice?
A bit of a fraud?
It’s either a fraud or not.
Otherwise, it’s like being sort of pregnant.
I did a search but it didn’t show up. Mine is the only one that shows up now.
National Geographic just do what the Democrats do: Apologize and get a reprieve from the lame street media.
“While science has established that there is a strong connection between melting sea ice and polar bears dying off...”
Except for one thing..... IT’S NOT TRUE! Polar bear populations are INCREASING.
Polar bears have no natural predators, so, like pretty much every other wild apex predator, unless they drown, die from disease, are killed by a human hunter, or are killed by another polar bear, they usually die from starvation when they can no longer effectively hunt prey. Sad as it is to think about, there are no polar bear nursing homes, but that’s the natural order of things.
Old, sick, polar bear. Rare photo, since other animals should have killed and eaten such a bear by now.
Let’s add “lucky”.
Damn....Polar Bears get sick or old and die? Since when? This has never happened before. ;-)
Yup. No Polarbama care available.
I’ve always said that one must consider how apex predators generally end up. Anything that impairs their ability to hunt is a death sentence by starvation. If a study could be done, I believe it would conclude that the majority of polar bears die by starvation, usually caused by an age related infirmity or an injury.
Well maybe not “recorded” anyway and we all know if it ain’t on “record”, it doesn’t count.
[[Polar bears have no natural predators,]]
Not even chupacabres?
Cannot.
Unsee.
That.
Grossness.
Must.
Upchuck.
