There must be a provision for paying the State directly, if paid in full.
I’m not entirely sure of the laws in every state, but I have known of people who were willing and able to post the entire amount themselves. They were not allowed to do that. I think the state/feds want the involvement of a bonding outfit which has “bounty hunters” readily available to go after those who skip out.
