Rush does a mea culpa on 'free' trade
Rush Limbaugh ^ | 7/26/18 | Central VA

Posted on 07/26/2018 12:27:49 PM PDT by central_va

Sorry for the vanity but Rush did a 180 on trade today and I am proud of him.

Rush confessed he was wrong all of these decades about trade, live on air just a few minutes ago! He also admitted Perot was correct and the the one sided trade the US( and its workers ) have been subjected to was wrong and it was erroneously pawned off as 'free trade'. He said he was duped by economists.

I just listened in amazement committing free trade heresy live. It was a great radio show today! Awesome!

Rush is off my S list. He is big man for doing this.

Yeah, FR can be like that. You can be wrong about something for years. All of a sudden, you’re right.

I do not think Perot ever debated Gore. Gore was the VP candidate and Perot a presidential candidate. That former admiral (Stockdale?) debated Gore and he was terrible.

Yep. It’s been a long battle. Most on this site were in favor of one sided free trade. Having essentially no tariffs on our side and huge tariffs on the other side, never made sense to me. Fair Traders have been redeemed. Now we have to tackle H1-B visas and mostly end it except for exceptional talent and severely limit immigration from third world countries.

Now he is only right 98.937% of the time.

It took a big man to do this. Good for you, Maha Rushie.

Free Trade has been the supposed zeitgeist among supposed conservatives forever. I could never understand how getting screwed on our negotiations was a conservative value.

Lobbyists and exploiters have owned DC for so long that they bought themselves their own little version of "conservative" values, whether they made sense or not.

Another of senseless tenant of "conservatism" fraud is the idea we need to stay in the Middle East for all eternity.

Uh. We pay big tariffs to ship a car to Mexico while Mexico pays none to ship a car here. We not only have jobs sucked out, but also get ripped off with cars.

Rush now walks in the sunshine. I am sure this is big load off his mind. He rejoined the ranks of the patriots today.

Economists considered our cash out to other countries to make the stuff we used to make here as part of GDP. So the loss of manufacturing wasn’t a problem as long as our capital was going out to finance it. Insane I know. But a lot of reasonable heads fell for it. I wasn’t smart enough to understand such a stupid concept?

Free Trade works among nations who allow it.

It can't work with only one nation doing it.

It's why I don't listen to Rush as a general rule. We knew decades ago free trade benefited everyone on the planet but American workers.

It was one big globalist con-job to align the U.S. with the rest of the 3rd world countries, all while we propped them up America declined in every direction. Same reason why Limbaugh kept his mouth shut for decades regarding this lawless violent open borders...He was a Bush hack.
