(CNN)Rep. Jim Jordan, a leader in the conservative House Freedom Caucus and former chairman of the group, told CNN he will announce his run for speaker of the House of Representatives in a letter to colleagues Thursday. Jordan has long said he was interested in the post, but the news comes after Jordan has faced questions about his time as an assistant coach at Ohio State University and whether he knew about alleged sexual abuse by a former Ohio State medical doctor who treated athletes there.

Is he really a Conservative?...wondering the same thing, maybe FReepers from Ohio could tell us what they think of him? I know they are going after him on that sex with young men charge, so maybe he is true conservative. Have seen him on a Fox show I watch. I like him. But I have had that football taken away from me to many times to trust him.

First things first, the GOP has to RETAIN the majority this coming November. Otherwise it’s Speaker Pelosi once again ( ugh!)

CNN just cannot report anything political, without showing its extreme bias. Rather than discuss Jordan's issues in running for speaker, they inject an absurd innuendo premised upon a stretched theory of guilt by association.

It is not Jordan who lacks a moral compass, it is the gaggle at CNN.

There were people praising Ryan at one time, if I remember accurately.
