Gov. Phil Murphy accused a pair of New Jersey radio hosts of spreading hate speech and issued sharp condemnation of their remarks Wednesday after the two repeatedly referred to New Jersey's Sikh attorney general as "turban man."
The governor accused the hosts of 101.5 FM's "The Dennis & Judi Show" of "making "abhorrent and xenophobic" remarks toward Gurbir Grewal.
Grewal, the nation's first Sikh attorney general, was referred to as "turban man" and "the guy with the turban" as the hosts discussed his recent move to tell municipal prosecutors not to pursue charges for marijuana arrests.

Hey Phil...
Suggestions accepted!
I went on the NJ 101.5 website and I can’t get access to Dennis and Judi’s website
http://nj1015.com/show/dennis-judi/
How is that offensive?
They blocked Dennis and Judi’s website.
They, I don’t know. FCC? NJ Dept. of Utilities?

I don’t know if I’d say it was hate speech, but it was uncivil and rude, if that is what, in fact, they said.
I don’t understand how an American Sikh can serve a Communist Party that worships Mohammadans.
I listen to these two occasionally. NOBODY is safe from ridicule on their show.

Has the gov ever blasted anyone for using Christophobic language? Anti-Semetic?
It’s working for me.
Should have just called him a towel head.
I’m pretty sure Gurbir Grewal doesn’t take offense for what he believes in
What he believes in is scary and un-American (even though he was born here); he is anti-gun, and condemns the US for interning West Coast Japanese early in WWII (despite the fact that they took and held American territory - including Alaskan islands - for much of the war). He believes in “preferred victim” status for some; there is nothing “American” about his worldview. Just more chipping away at the WASP foundation of the United States...
I don’t know about this attorney general guy. But something needs to be said here. Too many folks lump the Sikhs and Muslims together. Sikhs are not Islamists! If anything, they are anti-Islamists.
The Sikhs will be on our side in the coming great clash of civilizations.
Well said....but it’s hard to understand why a Sikh is a low life Democrat.
Paid. I have been asking myself the same question about the Catholics I have met all my life. (Except on this board). I have never met one that was not a Dem. Apparently abortion of an innocent is preferable over “the poor women and children”. There are a lot of religious leaders that believe the Bible promotes socialim and communism. Of course we all know socialism isn’t for the socialists.
I do not know much about the current NJ attorney general’s legal or political views.
Setting that part aside though, I think calling the guy “Turbin Man”, while not what I would ever refer to as “hate speech” (there should be no such thing in law), was I think stupid, and likely based on ignorance and prejudice.
The Sikhs are not Muslim and are not prone to the violence about their beliefs that so many Muslims are.
I am no fan of the current NJ governor, but I would agree that the radio show hosts are likely idiots.
Quite so.
