On Tuesday’s edition of CNN’s “Cuomo Prime Time,” Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz reacted to the release of a tape of a conversation between Donald Trump and Michael Cohen by stating that Cohen is “going to flip.” He added that even if everything Cohen’s lawyer, Lanny Davis says is true, “there’s no crime. There’s no federal crime. There’s no impeachable offense.”
Dershowitz began by saying, “I don’t know why anybody waived the lawyer-client communication regarding this tape.”
He continued, “[H]ere you have the client maybe saying, let’s pay cash. The lawyer says, no, no, no, do it by check. And the client comes back and says, I’ll do it by check. That’s a typical conversation. I’ve had that conversation a dozen times with clients, and you persuade them to do the right thing. But I think the big picture here is, number one, Lanny is a terrific lawyer. And so, there is a real lawyer who is now against Trump, unlike Avenatti and some of the others, a really, really good lawyer who’s on this case. Second of all, you have a situation where, you know, he’s going to flip. There’s no question. He’s now made it clear.”

IF...by some squeaky chance Cohen gets out of this, I think his days as a lawyer are done. Knowing he “outs” his clients, and breaks Lawyer-Client privilege is not very good advertising.
I guess he could buy TV ads and become a “personal injury” lawyer, and chase ambulances...but even that would be questionable.

Why would ANYBODY on OUR side hire Lanny Davis to “defend” them from a leftist kangaroo court? Lanny is notorious as a Hillary buttkisser. You KNOW he’s going to finnagle a way to throw the game. Lanny has probably ADVISED Cohen to flip, to sing, and to COMPOSE like crazy.

With deep Clinton connections, and therefore he will be continuously fed with lots of scurrilous things to throw at Trump. This is not a legal matter by any stretch; its political warfare. Whatever it takes to disparage Trump and damage his presidency is what they will do. These people are vicious.
Mueller knows there’s no collusion. The name of the game is throwing Trump out of office by any means necessary. That’s why the worthless POS Sessions needs to be fired today and Rosenstein need to be fired today.

All the money in the world and Trump hires Cohen as his personal lawyer?
This is involved in an action in the Southern District. My contention is it has to do with real estate transactions in some way, there is no collusion or Russia being investigated by the Southern District. The Trump appointed USA recused himself from this inquiry.
My guess is they are trying to snare Trump in some kind of condo conversion/variance matter. Cohen would be aware of any shannanagans. Of all the crap they have been trying to smear Trump with, this one could have some legs. Keep in mind the corrupt state attorney is aiding them in this endeavor.
Now, in getting him to flip, they will have to breach the attorney client privilege. The way they will go about it will be to have Cohen state he was part of the crime. Privilege does not extend to criminal enterprises.
We need be very careful about where this is going. Cohen is shooting up too many alarm flares to make this a nothing burger. He probably has his own problems and like any crook will gladly trade them in for their bigger target even if he has to make up something. When I heard he was monetizing his association with Trump, outside of Trump’s knowledge, with companies like ATT et al, I knew he was a sleaze. By then Trump did too but it was too late. A current day Shakespeare et tu moment is in the cards here I fear.
They knew that and agreed to this to defuse the bomb, which will be shown to be a dud anyway.
Wasn't this tape seized from Cohen's office during Mueller's unprecedented raid? Why are prosecutors leaking the fact of the tape when judge Kimba Wood assured us that there would be proper protections in place to protect attorney-client privilege?
Clearly, that hasn't worked out in Trump's favor.
