Waiter Khalil Cavil claimed a Texas patron stiffed him and left a hateful, anti-Islamic message on their bill after he served them.
Cavil went public with his shocking story and even made the news.
Khalil Cavil claimed the patron wrote, We dont tip terrorist. on their receipt.
But after an investigation the Saltgrass Steak House discovered Khalils story was completely made up.
FOX News reported:
A Texas restaurant server cooked up a steaming-hot hoax when he claimed a racist patron stiffed him and wrote We dont tip terrorist on their bill, according to a new report.
After further investigation, we have learned that our employee fabricated the entire story, Saltgrass Steak House COO Terry Turney said Monday in a statement to the Odessa American newspaper.
The customer has been contacted and invited back to our restaurant to dine on us. Racism of any form is intolerable, and we will always act swiftly should it occur in any of our establishments. Falsely accusing someone of racism is equaling disturbing.
Waiter Khalil Cavil, 20, who is black, had claimed the patron stiffed him on a $108 meal and instead wrote the hateful message.
It was all a hate hoax.

Arab or Turk?
So is Kahlil on he way back to his $hit hole “homeland” yet? Until we have a zero tolerance program here, this will continue.
Shocking?
I'm not shocked. In fact, I'm a little disappointed that it's not true.
Bagster
Maybe they started questioning him, since he couldn’t even write the comment correctly and put an “S” on the end of the word? Dumbass.

It appears that 90+% of the supposed hate crimes are those complaining being dishonest. Throw this bum liar in jail.
> Fake Hate
Real hate.
Odessa TX in general, has a hard time keeping staff and imports them from all over. I once had a server that told me she was from Houston, and made more from tips in Odessa than in Houston, and was paid over the regular minimum wage. (In Texas we have a “minimum wage for servers” of $2.13). They had a hard time keeping good servers.
Most of the patrons at Saltgrass are on expense accounts, I suspect.
My guess is that Kahlil either lost the signed copy of the receipt, and made up the story, or was paid in cash, pocketed it, and accused the patron of skipping out on the bill.
I would sooner believe that the patron actually wrote this garbage, than actually skipped out on a restaurant bill at Saltgrass.
Blowing off a tip? Happens all the time, especially with folks from other countries, or for bad service.
Blowing off a tab, in a small town like Odessa? Wow, that is really stupid for anyone who wants to ever visit Odessa more than once.
One definition of cavil:
"to oppose by inconsequential, frivolous, or sham objections:"
The patron paid for the meal by credit card. That is not in my "old man" definition of “stiffing” a server after a meal.
In my day it was common to have the server make up the shortfall, if a patron left without paying his bill. All transactions were in cash. That is true stiffing.
Not leaving a tip? In Odessa? He probably left a cash tip and server-boy didn't want to tipshare any of the largess.
All that it proves is the old saw, most retail theft is from your own employees.
Stiffed on a $108 tab? Did he pocket the cash? Is this simple larceny?
I think they may have paid with the card but left the tip in cash. I do that because sometimes - from my experience working in restaurants in the past - restaurants skim the tips if they’re on the card.
Possibly he didn’t see it, or one of his other sterling coworkers swiped it.
Or maybe he just wanted his David Hogg style 15 minutes. He looks and sounds like a snowflake, and maybe he felt he just wasn’t getting enough attention for his sensitive nature. Plus, he was a Muslim, and he announced that he was “wounded by this insult to his faith,” or something similar. Muslims are always dreaming up imaginary insults.
It wasn’t ALL a hoax — it does look like the guy spent $108 and didn’t leave a tip.
That doesn’t excuse the guy for nearly ruining the patron’s life with a racism charge.
But if you don’t want to tip, you should cook your own food, or not go to restaurants where tipping is expected.
He could have left a CASH tip-—that’s what I always do even when charging or using a gift card.
.
That is true. I stopped doing cash tips when this thing about posting people’s non-tips became a big deal. I figured I wanted it documented.
