During a statement on Monday, House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) said that the White House’s statement that President Trump is looking to revoke former CIA Director John Brennan’s security clearance as well as examining the clearances of several other former officials is “exactly what you see in authoritarian regimes.”
Schiff said, “Today’s action, suggesting that we will punish critics of the president by stripping them of their security clearance, that is not what you see in a democracy. That is exactly what you see in authoritarian regimes.”
He added that the move is a “despicable action…to try to silence critics,” and the “cowardly action of someone who is afraid of criticism.

What you see in authoritarian regimes when you accuse the Dear Leader of treason is a loss of more than security clearance.
Authoritarian regimes also breathe air and drink water. Sorry, Adam, you will need to make the positive case as to why these people need to retain their security clearances. Scare words aren’t going to cut it.

No, Schiff-for-brains, what we see is the correcting of an institutional wrong. Those that leave a billet requiring access to classified information no longer have the NEED TO KNOW. Their clearances should be deactivated just like everyone else. Those that incite sedition should have their clearance eligibility revoked with prejudice then prosecuted.

It was mere weeks ago he was predicting the end of the universe if the Nunes memo was released. Well, it was released, the universe didn’t end.
But the Nunes memo has been proved entirely accurate in the last few days yet Schiff persists.
Once again the Dems fail to understand the people. Most people would question why they need clearances after they leave the government payroll. The media anticipated this which is why major Garrett and the rest have all sung the same non convincing tune - They NEED to retain them because they are OFTEN asked for their ADVICE. Which again is unbelievable because everyone know that Trump would not seek advice from unhinged Clapper or commie Brennan.
I just wish that these liars would get a taste of a real authoritarian gov. Somehow I think if they keep up their antics they may.
Did he say the same thing when Jared Kushner temporarily lost his clearance? Nah. Didn’t think so.
Revoking clearances of former staffers should be a no-brainer! No matter if they support you or not.

You can tell that just by the way they sling the word "secret" around..
The only exception that I could see to allow a guy to keep his clearance is if he was a analyst of rare standing. Say a guy who knew Russian submarine operations, or a guy who was a PhD type over some science technology.
Beyond that...no, it ought to be a simple 10-minute debriefing on the last day...hand over your badges, and walk out. I wouldn’t even allow Presidents to carry a clearance out the front door.
