How I miss Barack Obama. And I say that as someone who worked to defeat him: I was a foreign policy adviser to John McCain in 2008 and to Mitt Romney in 2012. I criticized Obamas lead from behind foreign policy that resulted in a premature pullout from Iraq and a failure to stop the slaughter in Syria. I thought he was too weak on Iran and too tough on Israel. I feared that Obamacare would be too costly. I fumed that he was too professorial and too indecisive. I was left cold by his arrogance and his cult of personality. Now I would take Obama back in a nanosecond. His presidency appears to be a lost golden age when reason and morality reigned. All of his faults, real as they were, fade into insignificance compared with the crippling defects of his successor. And his strengths seriousness, dignity, intellect, probity, dedication to ideals larger than self shine all the more clearly in retrospect.

Then you have lost your mind.
Above all, he misses Obama’s “flexibility”.
If you miss Obama then you hate America. No way around it.
Is there such a thing as a Wapo/CNN/NYT/ETC conservative?
I think not. What conservative could stand to be around all those insane idiots on a daily basis?
It would be like hanging out with drunks all the time when you don’t drink or do drugs. Total disconnect.
Barack was just another dime-a-dozen America-hating. illegal alien, black homo racist.
But Moochie was the gift of comic relief that kept us laughing for the 8 years of the Obamanation.
There is no such thing as a conservative who works at the washington post. One is more likely to find a snipe.
JoMa
Another GOPer who would rather lose graciously than fight back. McCain and Romney are not great references.
No kidding...his work on the McCain and Romney campaigns shows that he was already an Obama fan.
Bears repeating for the sesame street voters on FR reminding us to vote for the "lesser of two evils" because today's wishy-washy candidate selling us down the river is brought to you by the letter (R).
The “Conservative” author ignores that there is no dignity in Obama’s Marxist intellect, no matter the seaming “dignified” demeanor he presented, which was a totally manufactured attribute made with as much intent & manipulation as Obama’s manipulation of shallow thinking people; one of which we assume was the “Conservative” author that now adores Obama.
I am not quite sure but possibly “foreign policy advisor to McCain and Romney” and a “Conservative” are oxymorons.
Mmm hmm. Say no more.
Wash Post Conservative?
Hahahahahahahahaha
Bummer. Looks like Trump has lost the chubby Asian neocon vote.
Conservative?

It’s Matt Vespa according to the Townhall site- Vespa is an editor there. But he does quote fellow traveler Max Boot.

It only seemed better during Obama because conservatives aren’t sore losers.
A true conservative, a deep thinker, as long as your reference for deep thinking is a mud puddle.
“Scoop” Jackson helped intentionally torpedo Joseph McCarthy in the 1954 Army-McCarthy hearings by endorsing the intentionally false Democrat meme that McCarthy’s singling out her work with the Army Signal Corps and membership in the Communist Party as a case of mistaken identity.
It was not, and in closed session, Jackson sided with McCarthy’s view, but when it it was discussed with cameras present, he abruptly about faced and lied.
And he did it, as Truman had before him, to protect the Democrat party instead of protecting national security.
I have only contempt for the memory of “Scoop” Jackson, but even he was a Founding Father and patriot in comparison to Democrats today.
