This is a read-between-the-lines article. Bullet points: 1) Illegals are not paying $300 to a coyote as some are claiming, they're paying tens of thousands - enforced and collected stateside by organized crime. 2) Smugglers, inside and outside the US are becoming large enough to produce a footprint 3) corrupt Mesican police take their cut, too 4) Children are traumatized each step of the journey, warehoused in smuggler waystations 5) stateside "relatives" are transmitting large amounts of money to organized crime, feeding the cycle, transactions which should also have a footprint

The Trump plan has educed traffic and accelerated the costs to illegals. Result: They are more detectable.
And now we will roll the ba$tards.

Even if this story is true, which is doubtful, it still proves nothing. Either the same thing had been happening all along, or it may have even been worse.

I wonder what is being done to break up the human trafficking rings. That is at least as important ax building the wall and enforcing the immigration laws.

This seems like a typical narrative that the drive bys will push. They could not stop Trump from being elected, greatly because of the concern over illegals, so now they allege the failures of the crackdown.
They did the same concerning concealed firearm carry laws in that they could not stop them from being passed, but then lectured about how armed citizens did not help reduce crime (ignoring reality) and that police were much more suited for carrying guns for protection.

With the syrian rapefugees and the increased H1B visas you dont even have to ask why no wall is built. The detainee kabuki would end too. So why not build it? Unless you really dont want to.

Better that you should have stayed home. Simple as that.

While the article may pander and imply ‘failure’, the read-between-the-lines reality is, the crackdown is proving a success in pulling the players out of the shadows, thereby making it easier for DHS/FBI/etal to nail some organized crime/trafficking operations by following the money trail.
For instance, these folks claiming they are going to live with relatives? Let’s looksee how many wire transfers those relatives made or will make. More than one way to cook a goose.

This story is pure balderdash. The writer acts like Mexico is some sort of craphole country run by gangs who will do anything to make a buck. How ridiculous. In reality, Mexico is a worker's paradise: There is nothing to fear down there. They have wonderful vacation resorts on both the gulf and the Pacific. Everyone should go visit.
Just another angry American acting like his country is so special/sarc

I dont care how safe the border is.

"Either the same thing had been happening all along, or it may have even been worse." Yeah... In any case, it has absolutely nothing to do with Trumps policy... The stinking liberal court's wont let Trump put his policy into action...!

Exactly. If the crap hole left would stop obstructing Trump’s immigration policy, it might have a chance to work.
